I've got this CD, and I don't even listen to it. 'Prelude to Madness' is a pretty good tune. Outside of that, I can't say a whole lot about this one. This band has a lot of talent though.

Prelude To Madness........going into Hall Of The Mountain King, is just about the ultimate 'air guitar' track you can ever get. The rest of the disc is awesome. But then again. Im a Savatage addict. I cant praise this band enough. Even got drunk with them once here after a show. Cool guys.

Jason, you should listen to it - its a superb heavy metal album. Worth buying for the title track alone. Brilliant guitar from Criss Oliva - this album proving he was one of the best. What a tragedy that he should die so young.

A friend threw 'Strange Wings' on a compilation for me and it's got me interested. Good stuff! I will be buying some Savatage.

"She's got strange wings" One of the best tracks written by the band, fantastic riff and thunderous drums. This Cd got me into Savatage in a huge way

Great one. Jon oliva really had few competitors, unique voice with perfect "equilibrium". And delivers his special "AAh, AAh" with his personal vibrato (Hall of the mountain King). With Cris Oliva, great solo guitarist, but not a sterile soloist. Really worth buying this one.

This was one of their stronger ventures, leading up to their creciendo. If you don't have this one, find it and tuck it away. It's a must have. 10/10.

The best Heavy Metal album ever made. The mountain king rules.

From: AHUEA Date: January 14, 2005 at 11:12
one of the best TAGE albums, no weak track, pure shredding by Criss oliva and Jon does an awesome job on the vocals. Paul O'neil is a great producer. Title track is the best!!! the video is hilarious

This is the one to own boys and girls. A classic. Good hard hitting songs and musicianship. Can't go wrong here.

From: CS2007 Date: October 9, 2007 at 19:26
After releasing the worst album of their career, Fight For the Rock, Savatage shocks the metal world with their best album of their career, Hall of the Mountain King. This ranks up there with albums like Powerslave, Holy Diver, Reign in Blood, Beneath the Remains, Heaven and Hell, etc., as one of the best metal albums of all time. The best songs here are "Beyond the Doors of the Dark", "Legions", "Strange Wings", "The Price You Pay", and the title track, although the whole album is good.
