| One of the best NWOBHM albums ever released, and without a doubt Saxon's finest moment. Exceptional all the way through , especially the opening 4 cuts. Saw them on the 'Wheels Of Steel' tour back in 1980 and they are still one of the best live bands i have ever seen. Superb.

| Great album! The last time I saw these guys I wanted them to play Suzie hold on, but they never did. Amazing musicianship on this one. 10/10.

| Wheels of Steel is by far their best most exciting pounding in your face but oh so groovy and always melodic rock song ever. What a killer tune !!!

| Ha, I grew up on this masterpiece! 747 is a true metal gem as is Wheels of Steel, Suzie Hold on and the under-rated See the Light Shining, with a great vocal from Byford. A must have for anyone's collection

| Hi guys!I absolutely agree with you.I've a version of this album together with S.A.O.T.L. for 100 years of EMI with some unreleased and live bonus tracks.What can i say for an album lke this one?Just perfect!And yes Jez,one of the NWOBHM albums ever,but not better than "denim&leather" i think (and don't forget ANGELWITCH's debut).I've seen them three times live and proved to me that they're the ultimate professionals on stage.

| The Angelwitch album, whilst containing some great tracks (Angelwitch, Gorgon, Angel Of Death, Sweet Danger etc) should have been a monster album. Unfortunately it wasn't as the rather Naff production job relinquished it of all it's power and it ended up with as much bite as a toothless dog. One of the big let downs of the era definately.

| Great Heavy Metal/Hard Rock album, con sus momentos melodicos pero este disco es la esencia de ambos estilos y uno de los mejores en esos campos de todos los tiempos y con el cual sucumbieron todo el mundo del Rock en ese entonces, no necesita mas palabras Imprescindible 9.5/10.

| looking back so many memories!! NWOBHM wow!! Monsters of rock! 747 got me hooked into heavymetal, i still remember the attitude of those days, a headbanger was a kind of an outlaw,rebel, badboy and a lot of fuck off´s talking. LOL, so diffrent today. sometimes life goes by very fast, but on this point of view to me it looks like it was 100 years ago! i don´t know what they do actually but they will always have a special place in my mind! KEEP ON ROCKING SAXON!!!

| i´m sorry i´m not here to talk about saxo, but i´m shoure they would´nt mind of backing me up on what i´m gonna say, as also iron maiden, def leppard. all the bands that belong to the NWOBHM...all the bands??? all the guys mantioned have a page on HH. who is missing?? did it again. another monster band missing here!! let´s put our hands in the air for the excelente....DIAMOND HEAD. another big gap in HH!!!

| "Wheels of Steel", and "Suzie Hold On" are the standouts for me, but the entire record kicks ass! A DEFINITE must have for any NWOBHM fan. NWOBHM RULES!!

| very good release once again by SAXON.this was the hard rock sound in the UK back then and this release is a classic in that."wheels of steel","suzie hold on" ," 747 (strangers in the night)" and " motorcycle man" are anthemic songs.essential

A good follower of the debut!!!...tracks 1,2,3,4,6,7,8(AOR-ish)& 9 are Saxon's classics of all time...91/100

| It just does not get any better than this. I put both Wheels of Steel and Strong Arm of the Law right up there with same-era releases by Priest and Motorhead. Speaking of those two, Saxon's approach here is like a combination of the best attributes of them: you get some of the relentless speed of Motorheead (which was still quite new and revolutionary at the time), plus the strong riffs and twin-guitar mayhem of Priest. The songs are just so fiery and exuberant, they just demand to be played at top volume. The recipe is to take some fairly simple riffs and play them with such passion and volume and beat them into your brain, and add in the high-spirited yelps of Biff Byford, and some wild solos (see "Machine Gun"), crank to 11 and mash the gas. What Saxon were able to do in the space of about a year and a half, releasing three classics of the genre (Denim and Leather only slightly less great than the other two) is phenomenal, and the band's career has been built on this period.

| The only reason I put Wheels of Steel ahead of Strong Arm is because there's one more song. Nine fantastic songs beats eight fantastic songs--simple math.
