A fair attempt to win over an American audience which didn't succeed. Not one of their strongest albums, but its not really bad either. The lieup isn't listed but its Biff Byford on vocals, Paul Quinn & Graham Oliver on guitar, Paul Johnson on bass, and Nigel Glockler on drums. Features Elton John playing keyboards on "Northern Lady" & "Party til ya Puke". |

I actually like this one very much! The title song is an instant classic, and there are also some other strong rockers like We Came Here To Rock. It isn´t the best Saxon could do all the way, but nevertheless very enjoyable album. |

I have never been a big fan of Saxon, but I still give a listen to their discs when I can. This one starts off nice with the Scorpions like "Rock The Nations", but then take a downward spiral quickly. I guess we know where Andrew WK got his inspiration from with a track called "Party Til You Puke". 3/10 |

Yet another strong showing from the boys of NWOBHM. This one doesn't get what it deserves but trust me on this one, this album rocks. 10/10. |

The worst Saxon album in their whole catologue for me. 'Rock The Nations', 'Empty Promises' and 'Waiting For The Night' are excellent, but the rest is a mish mash of plain average 'Running Hot' (Saxon Don't do average!!) to the downright awful 'Party Til You Puke' (featuring Fucking Elton John) '& 'We Came Here To Rock (I'm sure you did boys, but this is just plain crap i'm afraid). A Major disappointment and a big black mark, which gladly, didn't last for too long. Enough said on this one, move on quickly. |

A couple of interesting tunes like "Rock The Nations", "Battle Cry", the melodic "Waiting For The Night" and "Running Hot" but not much more. As Gar stated above, this was an unsuccessful attempt to win over an American audience. Overall, not spectacular but listenable album. |

Saxon is one of those bands that won't let their fans down EVER!!!...they simply rock and this mid 80's release "Rock The Nations" ain't the exception...best shots are "Rock The Nations","Waiting For The Night"(AORish)& "Running Hot"...the couple of songs with Sir Elton John are good too but especially "Northern Lady" wich is a nice rocking one...enjoyable album...90/100 |

hopefully the reissue have several bonus tracks live of very high level like"every bodys up" for example cause the real record have only 9 tracks with two fillers (tracks 5 and 7).not the the best saxon s record of their commercial period (their best).a very great cd but absoluty not at the same very high level of "innocence is no excuse" one of the best record ever in the history of hard rock history. |
