I am a big fan of SAXON and not only from their first albums. I also love most of their 90s albums and KILLING GROUND(album before this one) was also very good. Their are only two albums i dont like from SAXON. METALHEAD and this album LIONHEART. I listen to the songs a couple of times but they are nothing special. It sound very much like power metal to me, same with METALHEAD. Biff try to sound like most of the german and italian vocalists of today. Sad but true.

I quite like this album, yes it's nothing new but it does put me in mind of 1980s Saxon. It sounds like they've been listening to Axel Rudi Pell (but they've kept it quite British Heavy Metalish)a good album (7/10).

Metalhead is great.

Classic heavy metal at its best. IMO their bast album since 'Solid Ball Of Rock'. The legends are back and better than ever. A must-own for any heavy metal fan or Saxon fan. Great stuff.

the best since "unleashed the beast"...great heavy from these old rockers.

Saxon are back after the great Double DVD & CD The Double Chronicles was released last year. This Cd ,LIONHEART, is the best since "Unleash the Beast" its Great Saxon metal!

I have to tell you that after listening to this album a couple of times now, its not so bad(read my opinion before). Some songs are very good like the first song or the titel track. Still, KILLING GROUND was better in my opinion(more NWOBHM sound and they are bloody English, no???) but after listening to it a couple of times, not bad at all.

I like the song Lion heart. Good raw work. Hope to one day see them here in the states, again.

From: p.k Date: January 27, 2005 at 9:04
The songs are o.k but sounds TOO modern for my likes.Very raw and heavy and the melody suffers. In places i had the impression that i was listening to PANTERA(YUCK!) with Byff on the micro! No, i won't take!

What you all going on about? This is fucking class!

From: Metal T Date: March 24, 2005 at 17:50
Very nice record! Saxon' will always continue to release quality material. While,i personally think they'll never be able to top their "Strong Arm/Wheels Of Steel era" stuff, they definitely are class and will deliver more times than not.Long Live Good ol' British Heavy Metal !

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: August 19, 2007 at 4:06
Great CD by the NWOBHM survivors ! 85/100 yes , they sound HEAVIER but hey ! , they create POWER METAL back in the day with JUDAS PRIEST and ACCEPT!/ and BIFF BYFORD will never sound like the other guys ,because of his very personnal voice ! the GREAT JORG MICHAEL's drumming it's awesome like aletcways (AVENGER/RAGE/MEKONG DELTA/UNLEASHED POWER/A.R.PELL/LAOS/HEADHUNTER/GRAVE DIGGER/the huge HOUSE OF SPIRITS/STRATOVARIUS/etc...) CHECK THE FANTASTIC NEW CD "the inner sanctum" 85/100
