This one never gets mentioned among their classic albums, but for me its one of their best. SAXON put their NWOBHM roots on the back burner and focused on making more accessible hard rock music. The whole album is filled with solid radio-friendly songs, its really a wonder why this didn't bring them the overseas attention they were aiming for.

From: visitor Date: August 22, 2003 at 9:51
I agree, Gar. Rocking again, Back on the Streets & Devil Rides Out are all true hard rock hits! Just because they made this album perhaps a little more easily accessible, doesn´t change the fact that they rock really hard! This album is definately sadly underrated!

question:didn't they release some sort of disco version of the song 'back on the streets again'? SAXON is a great heavy metal band

This CD is Very Hard To find so if anyone needs a copy let me know at dlut6@yahoo.com . Saxon is Awesome and many album CD's are Out of Print . I have seen them twice in concert and they Rock . Rock On SAXON

Emotive vocals from Biff along with melodic guitar lines and brazen dramatic hook should have made it a no 1 million seller. Major rock anthems such as 'Rockin' Again' and 'Back On The Streets' contain effortless melody while still retaining hard rock aggression. Saxon were still a metal band above all and 'Give It Everything You've Got' is as fast and riff heavy as previous years, if more streamlined with deft keyboard touches.

Where are they now?!!!

Rocking Again and Broken Heros are two of Saxon's Best songs! Great CD!

From: Metal T Date: March 14, 2006 at 9:08
Ive come to accept and like this quite a bit over the years, despite this being softer than previous Saxon' efforts."Rockin' Again","Rock N Roll Gypsy",and the very metal "Devil Rides Out" make it listenable.Once in a great while Saxon will break out "Devil" and play it live....and a very cool solo Quinn pulls off on it.

Virtually absent from here is the Metal of the past and very much in play is the Melodic Rock that was hinted at on the last 'Crusader' album. I pretty much like all of this album, but it did really divide alot of Saxon'ites at the time. If you take it for what it is, you have an excellently played, produced and well written album, full of quality Melodic Hard rock tracks. If you, like some of the old guard, expect typical Saxon of old, then you will be pretty disappointed with pretty much the whole thing. Highlight of the new Saxon sound here must be 'Back On The Streets', which shows the band at pretty much the most commercial they have ever been (up to this point), and I must say it is a pretty damned good track. Also worthy of mention are 'Broken Heroes', 'Devil Rides Out' and 'Call Of The Wild', but again there are a few tracks that let the side down on here and have you reaching for the skip button. All in all a pretty good disc and alot better than the previous 'Crusader'.

Broken Heroes, what a great song! one of my favorites from SAXON, awesome chorus, killer riffs and mighty solos, this song made me to buy this album, other pearls are Back on the treets Again,Rock ´n´Roll Gypsy,a real classic for me,more commercial, more melodic and more accesible than the previous albums,10/10.

fantastic release by SAXON ,for me this is probably their best ever!simon hanhart produced smoothly and the band found the perfect balance between heavy and hard tunes.all the songs are strong and catchy and could be hits on both sides of the atlantic.surely a must have
