I just recently found this on cd. When released Hit Parader had a big article calling them the "next" AC/DC so I bought the tape but I think they have more of a sleazy-blues sound similiar to Junkyard. It's definitely not an album that will make anyone say "these guys should've been huge!" but it's still fun to listen to with tracks 1,2,5 & 8 being my "favourites". Lead singer was from England, maybe thats the reason for the "Neighbourhood" spelling? The drummer died in '92 of a drug overdose.

From: jarett r. Date: August 11, 2003 at 16:31
the song "freedom road" has backing vocals by johnny b. frank and danny stag from kingdom come.

From: Underdog Date: August 11, 2003 at 20:08
I saw these guys open up for tesla and motley crue in 1990 at old orchard beach maine..ehem! they blew live, not sure how thie disc sounds, but live yeah they blew!

From: anamal Date: August 12, 2003 at 13:19
underdog..i was at that same show..yeah they sucked live due to sound problems that always occur for the openers, but the cd is a kick ass peice of hard rock n roll..

From: The Know Date: August 14, 2003 at 20:36
Gotta correct ya Blue Tequila, Punkee is alive and well, it was Adam Rogers who died. Top marks though about the vocalist being from England. He was in fact the 2nd vocalist for UK metal band Tokyo Blade. Johnny Crash actually recorded a 2nd album without August Worchell, but details are so sketchy about it. Apparently there were a couple of future(?) G'n'R members on it, but it has never been released.

From: Blue Tequila Date: August 14, 2003 at 21:01
Hey thanks for clearing that up T.K. Metal Sludge was where I read that about Punkee. Guess you can't believe everything you read on the net.

A good L.A. sleaze rock album that just got lost in the mix back when every band like this had a deal. Aggresive and attitude laden but still full of hooks with a good production. 8/10

From: cincygirl Date: February 22, 2004 at 16:18
I saw Johnny Crash open up for Bonham in Cincinnati and they were awesome. The band did record a second album with Matt Sorum and Dizzy from G'N'R yet was never released.

AC/DC + FASTER PUSSYCAT = JOHNNY CRASH

From: Uncle Salty Date: April 30, 2004 at 10:40
This album kicks ass, the songs are great. I recently found it on ebay. If you haven't heard it yet, I'll tell what it sounds like: if Faster Pussycat were an AC/DC cover band, they would sound like this. Do yourself a favour and buy this album.

From: Betsy Browning Date: February 5, 2005 at 17:58
My favorite band in my Hollywood days! I saw every show they ever did i there. And since I was scouting for a couple of labels back then, I worked hard to get this band signed, though they landed their own deal with WTG in 1989. No Bones was definately my favorite song, and then Crack of Dawn. Vicki James Wright rules. Johnny Crash rules. And if you look hard enough you will see my name in the special thanks. 10+!

From: Geoff Date: February 10, 2005 at 4:09
I like this CD. It's not extrordinary, but it's very good for what it is - straight down the line hard rock. Very nice. And again the ballad shines in for of the excellent 'Freedom road'. Good solid hard rock CD. Track it down.

Great album !! Similar to AC/DC, Britny Fox, Broken Teeth, Cherry Street... I saw this band with my friend "Brett" in Besançon (France) in support of Pretty Maids (Tour 1990). Good guyz !! Rock'n'Roll !!

From: Azza Date: May 4, 2005 at 17:02
I stumbled across this record totally by accident but it was a good find for sure, I love it. There are copies of the unreleased 2nd album going around, if anybody knows anything about this please contact me lovers_of_the_insane@Hotmail.com as I am really interested in hearing it, thanks. If you like trashy street rock n roll then this is for you...highly recommended.

A nice Rock`n`Roll album with many Hits.

From: Jimmy D Date: July 29, 2005 at 18:43
This is a great hard rock album! Whoever said that Johnny Crash sounds like Faster Pussycat if they were an AC/DC cover band was definitely right on. The first 5 songs are awesome, and the rest of them ain't bad either. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you like Faster Pussycat's first album.

From: Freeagle Date: September 6, 2005 at 20:05
This is one of my all time favourite albums. I wonder how the hell I could find this tape back in 1990 here in Italy, but it was definitely one of the best buys I could do when I was a young kid discoverin' hard rock and heavy metal! I still listen to it a lot and like every note. All these years I've been wonderin' if they did anything else, so here's a message, mostly for Betsy Browning: please email me if you can, I'd really love to know more about J.C.! freeagle25@hotmail.com - Thanks!

A nice little AC/DC,Junkyard-ish band....I really liked Vicki in Tokyo Blade(they had an Iron Maiden jones big time). This coulda been a little strongerIMO,but it still kicks ass...8/10.

I thought this was a great cd as well. and even thought there would be a second cd but it did not happen thanks to grunge.

From all the comments I'd heard over the years about this one, I figured it would be right up my alley. Surprisingly, I found Neighbourhood Threat to be fairly boring. There are a handful of standouts, but much of this just whizzed in one ear and out the other. Reminded me more of the Quireboys, another band I don't really like, than anything else. The last track is an idiotic blues number based around a stupid joke. Funny when you're drunk, but that's about it.

From: Seb Date: July 16, 2010 at 20:46
Killer band! one of the best!

From: z4roxx Date: August 4, 2010 at 13:27
I can't say this is bad or else but I detest AC/DC style,so this one can sounds excellent in sounds but only decent in music for my personal tastes.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 7, 2011 at 9:44
If you're jonesing for some no-frills, riff-tastic, attitude-driven power-rock, then you should definitely scope these guys out. Yes, they borrow liberally from the AC/DC and Junkyard musical school, but they do so with the guitars cranked to maximum crunch and sporting more aggression than a wife catching her hubby canoodling in bed with another woman. Throw open the windows, turn the volume all the way up, and let the slamming chords & gang vocal choruses rattle your neighborhood. Sure, you'll probably receive some threats of bodily harm from your less-than-appreciative neighbors, but nobody ever said rockin' out was without its risks...

From: hair metal again Date: December 21, 2011 at 2:50
excellent debut by JOHNNY CRASH ,straight hard rock music all the way with great riffs ,nice groove and attitude and some good songs !"hey kid","crack of dawn","halfway to heaven" and "freedom road " are the highlights and this one is a must have for fans of the hair metal scene !

From: the rocker Date: December 23, 2011 at 13:46
This is a good cd. If you like- Dirty Looks, Kix, AC/DC, or Junkyard ,you will really like this cd. Freedom Road is my favorite, others include- Hey Kid, No Bones' All The Way In Love, and Halfway To Heaven, the whole cd is good.

From: pie75 Date: April 17, 2012 at 19:42

From: Delbert Date: May 2, 2014 at 12:06
A great production by Tony Platt (LILLIAN AXE & CROSSROADS) and lead vocals of Vik Wright, ex-TOKYO BLADE. A strong melodic hard rock CD influenced by AC/DC. It's loud, cranking, attitude-driven melodic hard rock and it doesn't get much better than this. With big, powerful guitars, crunchy chords and plenty of gang vocals, this band packs a punch. A must have CD in my opinion.
