| With War Of Kings Europe steps slightly away from the OTT blues of previous outing/s & instead pay homage to their own 70's influences. Production sounds a little retro at times too kinda vintage with effects adding to the old-school vibe. And clever buggers they are too because perhaps more-so than ever since reforming we hear those big Europe melodies of old sneaking back into the fold, giving the DeepPurple &co influences the Europe twist. Getting past the usual epic title track opener, also high on rotation is the dark Children Of The Mind while slower it reminds a little of the likes of Seventh Sign & the Wings material, the rocking walk through music history Days Of Rock N' Roll, nasty Nothin' To Ya & the moody yet sunny California 405 to name just a few. Joey is back to his best & Europe have delivered what is to these ears their finest record since Secret Society, a record that should please fans of both the new and old Europe. Get the Digi with bonus instrumental - Rating 8.5

| hum i ve heard the samples on n e h records........it a real nighmare.this record is a disaster.no melodies nothing catch me.a shame how a band of this quality with a so brilliant career can offer to us a big shit like this.it s a slaughter.november 30 2015 they will play in my town lyon in guest of scorpions for a very exciting concert.hope they forget their new carnage and they will play their classic songs.

You can listen from miles away the UFO,Rainbow or even Deep Purple sound influence in here...a more rocking album than anything else with a touch of Blues as well(the last instrumental B/T says it all)...my fave ones are "Children Of The Mind" & "Light It Up"...tracks 2,3,6,7 & 9 also are good ones...recommended stuff...a very mature band is what Europe has become...88/100

| I think in this day and age you have to know what to expect from a new Europe album. It is going to be the darker heavier sound, not the pomp and big keyboards of yesteryear, so every time I see someone complain about their new albums I roll my eyes. If you dont like modern Europe there is a very simple thing to do, dont buy their newest releases. This one is much the same as their last few albums, a good mix between the Start from dark modern take, mixed with some classic melodies. Norum riffs it up like a maniac on some tracks, which is always welcome. While this album has yet to sink in fully for me, Hole in my pocket stood out straight away, and is a fantastic addition to their catalogue. Loving the modern day Europe.

| New era Europe is performing well, but the songs lack good catchy choruses, and after a while, I always turn to the classic albums. It's not bad, but a band like Treat write so much stronger songs these days. Boring, I'm sad to say.

| europe at "guitares en scène" festival last saturday.like status quo they have playing on the big stage.the sound was perfect,the musicians are very very talented,they are masters in their speciality.joe tempest is a top class showman.the girls in front the stage was really hysterical.but they open the show with two songs from "war of kings".no melodies for these very dark songs so the crowd don t follow.the third song was "rock the night" so they wake up their fans.after we have several heavy and darker songs.no interest.the second part of the show was better with many many hits "girl of lebannon" for example.of course they finished with their intergalatic hit "the final countdown".

| This is certainly a more diverse and laid back release for Europe. I have tried to revisit this release over and over again, and have really struggled to embrace this record. This record seems like a forced effort on the bands part and doesn't provide any outlet and stands by itself among their last several releases... I was able to connect to four tracks on here (even with the bonus tracks), the rest is too diverse, dark and dismal for Europe and its fans. Hopefully their next record takes them back on the right track! HIGHLIGHT TRACKS: #2,7,8,11. MY RATING: 40/100.
