The most-hated UH records amongst the classic 70's fans, but shoot me, I dig this a lot! Cheesy for sure, but songs like 'Lost One Love', 'Angel' and 'Holding On' are pure AOR at its best. Don't forget that Equator also offers us a huge epic tune in 'Night Of The Wolf'. Unfortunately the CD is issued without any bonus tracks. There's a b-side called 'Backstage Girl' that needs to be included someday!

Definitely my favorite HEEP disc, just behind ABOMINOG. True, most HEEP fans hate this one. Mainly because its so far removed from what they did in the 70s. To be quite honest, 80s HEEP and 70s HEEP were two different bands. Sure, some of the members were the same, but the styles were way different. EQUATOR, despite the occasional cheesy lyric, is a strong album that still holds up today.

This is another great band ! They not only play hardrock, but some of their CD's are pure AOR ! Both sides of Heep are worth checking out. They are great in hardrock but also bloody good if they give us AOR ! Nice band !

I loved 'Abominog', but what happened here with this album? One of the most overproduced 'rock' albums out there. So many effects it ruins the songs, which most were just bad to begin with. 'Rockarama' might be the least rocking song with rock in it's name. With good reason, Box recruited new members after this album tanked. 1/10

Agreed with Big Papa K. Sounds like the line levels were in the red on the mixer throughout the whole recording. Good songs like 'Rockarama' and 'Holding On' are stuffed full of vocals and overdubs (which I normally enjoy) but the mix is wrong. Sounds like Tony Platt was trying too hard to be 'Mutt' Lange.

Well, downhill continued here. Does anyone know what Pete Goalby does nowadays. He had great voice. For the album 5/10

Quite a wide variety of music to digest here. From the cheesed out 'Rockarama' to the excellent burner 'Night Of The Wolf'. Overall, still worth a sifting for some decent tracks.

From: Axe-Machine Date: January 26, 2006 at 8:49
Not a classic, but features some good tunes, especially 'Bad Blood' and 'Poor Little Rich Girl'. Biggest problem is the production, and agree with Koogles' opinion that the album must have been recorded with all the line levels in the red...everything sounds a little distorted. Nice keys though, and great singing from Goalby. One for AOR fans, but perhaps not those who adore what Heep did in the 70s. This is a totally different animal. Recommended.

Holding On and Bad Blood are the only songs worth to get back to now and then. Uriah Heep goes Foreigner.
