The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Dokken CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Dokken are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

The GEEZERS in the EAST make their return to the land of the rising sun with their mini reunion with the original-lineup. A live DVD/CD, but for what else $? We're BIG in Japan, to keep those alimony checks rolling in and gifts for the grand kids. Don and his wig, are now social security age in his 60's, but his voice retired decades ago. This has be getting embarrassing for him as his last Dokken album "Broken Bones" it was reported that Mark Boals did all the vocals under tracking with the exact same vocal lines under Don's voice. The rest of the band holds up ok, but Lynch looks on autopilot, shocker he and Don still don't get along. The Beast From the East’ (1988) also had some studio magic, but you have to have a voice to work with. That was Dokken at it's musical chops peak of powers, and I will remember them as they where. There’s a new modern edge mediocre studio track here and even talk of a new album featuring the ‘classic’ Dokken line up. Let's hope it's just talk.

Good solid live' effort from the classic line-up--enjoyed this! Setlist needed some diff tunes though.Would like to see a new record, but not a big fan of the new studio track.George hasn't lost a whole hell of alot playing-wise imo.Don's vox sound good.Don has always put himself out there good, bad or ugly more than i can say for someone like Axl who dissapeared for decades and didn't release jack squat to his fans.

Sadly, a total $$ grab. Jeff, George and Mick are focused on more important things these days, and good for them. Such a fantastic band that just could never get over their issues, i.e. Don. Too bad. On the plus side, George and Jeff especially, are involved in some great work today!

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: May 7, 2018 at 14:45
At this point, it's just beyond me why anyone still cares. Even Don himself appeared not very enthusiastic in the run-up to these shows, pretty much admitting the payday was just too good to ignore, but not expressing any real desire otherwise to do the reunion. Add to that his clear ambivalence toward these old songs (he knows they're his bread and butter, but it just doesn't seem like he gets much enjoyment from them anymore), and why should any of us bother? So here's this live set, wherever it's from (some of the video footage is actually from the South Dakota warm-up show), and it just comes off flat to these ears. The band is capable, Jeff Pilson helping Don out on backing vocals, Don doing what he can with his greatly-diminished voice (no wonder he keeps talking about exploring other styles of music--he simply is no longer up to much of this material). Dokken isn't as embarrassing as Quiet Riot by any means, but the lack of excitement evident should tell us all ...

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: May 7, 2018 at 14:46
... that it's time to move on and put this band to bed.

From: Metal T Date: May 7, 2018 at 19:44
man, you're longwinded...do you ever come up for air ? You have to be one of the biggest whiners who posts on HH.Endless run-on paragraphs....a malcontent whose constantly bitching...and yet you shelled out the $ for this? Go figure.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: May 8, 2018 at 0:31
It's 2018, dude. You don't have to pay for stuff you're curious but pessimistic about. As for being long-winded: fuck off. That brief enough for ya?

From: MetalllianStallion Date: May 20, 2018 at 0:47
@Metal T, wait a minute, I thought I had the HH crown of #1 whiner/bitcher/homophobe/racist/xenophobe and religious fanatic? Somebody tell CC to take a pole on the boards to see if it's time to pass the baton. As far as Dokken, go to Amazon.com and read the poor suckers reviews who bought this live DVD/CD, which 75% was shot at a couple tune up shows in North Dakota. (Beast in the Hick-Sticks), and filmed on a dixie cup and a string budget. "Don's vox sound good." That is a delusional comment unless "Shadowlife" is your favorite release. A comparison with Axl Rose is irrelevant, as say what you will about the guy, he runs circles around Don's stage performance who was "wooden" even in the 80's.

Stallion--don't get me started on you because believe me buddy there's plenty of material there.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: May 23, 2018 at 19:54
Hey, Doghouse, if it makes you feel better, I enjoy your "long-winded, endless, run-on" posts. I think I appreciate the coherency of thought and proper punctuation. Nothing against those who simply exclaim, "This album rawks!" but I do enjoy the fact that you generally dig a little deeper with your commentary, even if I don't always agree with your viewpoint. As for this release ... well, I'm not a fan of live albums to begin with, and this is hardly the one that's going to change my mind. A little better than some, but much worse than others, I think sums it up.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: May 25, 2018 at 8:02
Thanks, man. It's just my thing, where I just wouldn't find it worth my time to just write "This RAWKS!" and not any effort into it--why even bother? People can take it or leave it; that wouldn't be much fun if we all agreed all the time, would it?

From: MetalllianStallion Date: May 27, 2018 at 7:17
@Metal T, I give you my permission to drop my HH WIKI LEAKS file.Take it easy, the importance of posting comments about music lies somewhere between playing video games and fantasy football leagues. I don't mind the studio acoustic bonus tracks as you know who tries to compensate on vocals. Ladies and gentlemen, The Jeff Pilson Band.
