Power pop for a new generation, pity they split and the posthumous Fame Amongst the Vulgar (excellent) ends up as a epitaph. The crucial track Someday kicks it off and what a blinder of a song - Cheap Trick meets the N.Y. Dolls. I can't pick a bad track off this and the song Sleep even has a tinge of John Waite to it. Jacob Bunton has a slight lisp to his voice which makes his performance all that more endearing. Total travesty this band fell by the wayside. And what a cool name! |

This one isn't anywhere near as good as the second album, IMO, which is excellent, but holy crap what an opener!!! 'Someday' truly is worth the price alone. Not too many tracks here thrill me too much I must admit - but like Nick C says, nothing too bad... but the opening track... Brilliant. Cool band anyway, even though I always thought the vocalist was very weak. |
