There are many highlights on this album, including the rather awesome pairing of 'Close To The Edge' and 'Strange World'. The fast paced party attack of 'In My Dreams' and the vivid description of 'Wild Boys' are as entertaining as their titles suggest. 'So Easy' is a slower piece, which shows a different side to De Mont, where they are just as comfortable doing a soaring radio oriented ballad as they are rockin' their asses off.

This album is very very good. Cool AOR/MELODIC HARD ROCK. My favorite song is IN MY DREAMS. Just a killer track.

I remember being disappointed with this when I first bought it, as Giant were releasing some top class AOR albums around the time, and style-wise this one's a mixed bag. Digging it out recently it sounds better than I remember. Some of tracks are more 'party rock' than AOR, but the middle of the CD has some killers. "In My Dreams" has a glorious AOR chorus, and "So Easy" is another great song. Not worth the high eBay price, and not as good as Roxus' "Nightstreet", but pretty entertaining. 8/10.

From: Geoff Date: August 19, 2004 at 9:08
I used to have this album (And man do I wish I still did! Don't fool yourself out there, this is still almost impossible to find even here in Australia, and it's not even that rare!!! I've only seen one copy, and I traded it). Either way, if I recall correctly it got a little better towards the end. 'In my dreams' and 'Close to the edge' were my faves I believe. Surely I kept a copy somewhere... good AOR, hope I find it again.

From: TIM (2) Date: August 19, 2004 at 9:21
Schmankerl Records have it for €60, which is an awful lot of money for what is only really a few top-class songs. But then if people are paying the same for the likes of Alexa, Witness, From the Fire etc, all of which are good but not great albums, then I'm sure they'd pay the same for this. Surely a case for a re-issue?

Demont were my fave band in australia! First i heard of them was opening for Motley Crue in '90. What a great rock album! Two great ballads in Too Late and the awesome So Easy! And heaps of great rockers in the Bon Jovi mould like Move On You, I Want Your Body and the fabulous In My Dreams. This is a must buy if you are into the late eighties hard rock scene! Very hard to get though, but i think worth tracking down at all costs.....

Will oz melodic rockers de mont repeat history in supporting motley crue for the sydney leg of the tour in 2005? Only time will tell.

IMO this is hard rock/AOR done very right. Tunes that both make you wanna rock (Move On You, Shake It Up) and get on the dance floor (I Want Your Body, In My Dreams) Killer keyz, killer vox = killer album! Pair this with Roxus' Nightstreet and u got an awesome Aussie combo.

I guess I am hearing something that no one else has. This is very average stuff I think. Not great but not bad. Paid big bucks for this disc and I am dissapointed. Oh well, AOR/Melodic Rock will always be my fave. Not all of it can be good.

From: Zoner Date: July 9, 2008 at 2:40
darobinson: Thanks for the warning I was going to purchase this CD but when I heard Close to the edge I didn't enjoyed it that much. It was kind of repeating and boring. Some said to me it sounds like a Swedish band but I disagree since the sound from Swedish bands is hard to beat. This is not your Treat, Dalton or Alien. You will be disappointed if you expect that sound from these guys.

From: Zoner Date: July 26, 2008 at 13:40
OK.... Whatever I said about De Mont's album I regret it now. This is pure magic from Australia! In my dreams has been stucked in my head for many weeks. I can never get rid of the hooks of that song it's amazingly good! Move on you is another great AOR/party tune... BUY BUY BUY!

From: Delbert Date: January 6, 2010 at 22:17
Here is a melodic rock band in the BON JOVI mold originating from Sydney, Australia. A bit raw around the edges but for this effort they've definitely got the big dollars onboard to help them smooth over those rough edges and come up with a brilliant slab of music. With Craig Morrison they've got a singer who swings in the same direction as ex BOSS and BB STEAL singer Craig Csongrady, while the real ace in the hole is keyboardist Peter James, who provides the delicate touches which lift this band from average to excellent. Combining this with Mandryk's melodic guitar attack and the ensuing result is very good, and well produced. Don't let this one slip past without a careful listen....I think you'll want to get it.

From: shoemaker Date: February 19, 2010 at 16:38
Sorry folks but I can only hear two good songs "In my dreams" and "close to the edge" the rest is boring.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 5, 2010 at 21:58
High quality music from down under...a mixture of AOR with some hints of Glam and Hard Rock..De mont's debut album Body Language can be described as one of the best albums ever recorded by an Aussie band back in the late 80's but the band itself didn't break through farther away than its own country (even though they supported Motley Crue in 89/90 down there and had some chance to step out of their native land)."Strange World","So Easy"(nice ballad),"In My Dreams(was a hit i think),"Too Late"(another nice ballad)and "Close To The Edge"(the best track of the album).Grab it and enjoy!.87/100

From: BDrums1971 Date: September 6, 2010 at 14:37
Ok, anyone else sick of bands that play the same tempo songs track after track? I listened to the first few songs here and kind of like it, but if you listen to all the songs, about 6 out of the 10 songs all have the same damn tempo. Come on, you gotta change it up. There is a grouping of I think four songs one right after the other that are almost exactly the same tempo, and sound similar as well. Have a little variety in your songwriting! There are other albums that I have noticed this on as well.

From: hair metal again Date: June 14, 2013 at 0:42
excellent debut by DE MONT back in 89 ,with a pretty smooth sound ,very good musicianship and some fine songs!the keys are always big and the vocals warm and powerful, the guitars though i believe should be more in the front ,as the guitar player is very ,very good!highlights are "closer to the edge","move on you" and "in my dreams".i d love to see them when they supported the Crue back then!
