One of their best albums, you have to buy it if you don't have it. Southern rock and boogie rock as its best. It includes an instrumental part of a Black Oak Arkansas classic song. A must have for those who dig this kind of R&R. |

I wanted very much to like this one, and in fact bought it on the strength of a review at KNAC. Sorry. It just doesn't hit me. Has some good songs, but Greg sounds too much like Kid Rock when he sings and with sixteen tracks, there is obviously going to be some filler. The Fizz Picks: "Here Lies," 'Sir Lord Ford," "Double Wide," "Real Good Time," "That Ain't What I Meant." |

I bought this CD when it came out, and didn't much care for it. I hadn't listened to it in a long time, but dug it out today ... and still don't like it much. The songs just aren't as catchy as on the self-titled and DMBC. Lots of weird rhythms, and the drummer kinda reminds me of that jazz drummer COC brought in on their last album, who spent the whole time trying to show how jazzy he was. (Well, this Rob Cournoyer IS from New Orleans ...) Anyway most of the good songs are among the first few, say the first five or so, and then "Bite The Lightning" and "That Ain't What I Meant." It's a shame, the production is really nice. |
