While the lyrics can't withstand careful scrutiny, there are plenty of kick-ass songs on this quasi-Christian AOR CD. Ken Tamplin's voice is in fine form and, when he doesn't let it get out of control ("Big Bang"), it rivals a Coverdale or a James Christian. "House of Dreams" is a MUST-HEAR ballad as is the sheer AOR perfection of "Radio Bikini", "Love to the Rescue", "Cry Just a Little Bit" and "Wounded Hearts". P.S. Avoid the 1993 follow-up, Magdalen, with even hokier lyrics and no Tamplin.

Possibly the most over-the-top album production-wise. I shudder to think how much time and money the band spent in the studio, what with all those over-dubs and all. The songs themselves are all right, but trying to reproduce them live would have been a disappointment after this!

House of Dreams is a very cool ballad but unfortunately I can't say that about the rest of the cd.

Maybe the purrfect-kat needs to go to the vet and get her ears checked. "Wounded Hearts"... listen to it in all its Whitesnake-esque splendor.

Take a pill and chill . . . Wounded Hearts is a good song but I like House of Dreams the best.

Oh dear... got this in the mail today via ebay and threw it at my CD player... couldn't listen to the whole thing. Where the heck are the songs amidst all the stiched together chunks of noise? Granted, when common sense prevails and the band actually plays some music the results are awesome (Wounded Hearts) and I will listen to the rest (from Dome of the Rock on) later. But so far, this disc is a HUGE disappointment. Way, WAY, WAAAAAAYYYYYYYY over the top.

A collaboration of Guiffria/House of Lords guitarist Lanny Cordolo and former shout guitarist/vocalist Ken Tamplin. "Big Bang" is overproduced, commercial pop metal/AOR. Lots of hooks, loads of talent, but way to clean and overproduced. Layer upon layer of vocals and overpolishing just robbed the rock n roll right out of this album. "House of Dreams" is a fantastic ballad. "Radio Bikini" is a decent hard rocking political rant. But otherwise, this isn't one of Tamplin's best. I much prefer his s

Great sound, great production( i love this overproduced albums) but it has very little killer songs....Radio Bikini two ballads Wounded and House and the rest are IMO very average( in terms of melody, guitarplaying is breathtaking)...6/10

IMO, this is below average hard rock with no syand-out tracks at all. I had it, sold it and have not missed it one day since. Well played, just no good songs to back it up, IMO.

************************Lucas H Gordon www.myspace.com/lucasgordon

Good grief. Where do I begin? This is supposed to be Ken Tamplin and Lanny Cordola's "Collaborative masterpiece" (according to the mail order catalog I got this disc from anyway) but what I got was a disc full of some of the most over the top, schlocky AOR/prog/hair metal that I have ever had the misfortune to sit through. I now see why I got this disc for a mere $2.50 - the catalog company must have hundreds of copies and can't get rid of them! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

I think this one started out with the wrong track (although it wouldn't have helped overall). Then 'Radio Bikini' kicked in. Corny name but it's a really good song. I also liked the ballads 'Wounded Hearts' and 'House Of Dreams'. There were a lot of fillers on here and even some songs with horns It was kind of a mixed bag and didn't flow well. It was borderline average in my book. I much prefer a release by Shout or House of Lords over this.

nice debut by MAGDALLAN.great production, some good songs and a kinda strange approach sometimes is what you get.i guess that this is because lanny felt free to put many semi acoustic parts that he likes so much and change the structure of the songs .standouts here are "wounded hearts" ,"radio bikini" and "cry just little".good release

This CD is so deliriously over-the-top in the production department that it would take an expert archeologist at least three years to uncover all the layers, but that would be forgiveable if the songs were better. But they're not, so just rip "Radio Bikini" & "Wounded Hearts" to your iPod and then toss the CD in the trash...there's no point in trying to sell it, as there are a a few million copies floating around out there for dirt cheap, and with good reason).

A good project with some ambitioned moments but any Ken Tamplin solo album could be far better than this IMO...Ken Mary & Lanny Cordola also provided experience to the cause but just to save the nation because this without being a bad album is far distanced of the greatness that each of these musicians has offered in the past with bands or as solo artist..."Radio Bikini"(has some cool bass lines that is the "mark" of the track),"Wounded Hearts","Love To The Rescue"(rocks!),"Dome Of The Rock"(rocks!),"House Of Dreams"(solid and nice softy)& "Cry Just A Little"(a rocking catchy one)are my faves...86/100

To me this CD is like an old mate. Sometimes I would like him to stop dressing up in too much glam, but I love him anyway. If there is a downfall to this album, it is Ken Tamplin having too much freedom on his vocals. But, the songs are strong with a number of standouts: End if the Ages is an epic, almost pomp rock. Radio Bikini is made for radio as per the title. Dome of the Rock is a great tune but suffers from overproduction. Ditto for Big Bang, the horns are over the top but the song is still good. House of Dreams is an excellent ballad. Yeah, I still like this album a lot. Not as much as Shout or the first two HoL albums, but it is up there. Ignore the haters. Rating B.
