Sounds like Pat was running out of steam by this point. All Fired Up? Maybe all burnt out. She had a solid decade, but it was time to re-invent herself, take a break or both. She did just that, albeit coming back in 1991 with a competent yet ultimately dissatisfying blues album. It would be another few years before she finally regained her stride ("Gravity's Rainbow").

Actually, I thought All Fired Up was a pretty kick-ass song!

Well well we all have our quirks and I LOVE this album! It was one of the first albums of the whole 'melodic rock' genre that I ever owned and I still have a very soft spot for it! 'Too Long A Soldier' is a classic, and the whole album is very enjoyable to listen to. So, even though I often find myself agreeing with mr/s koogles on these boards... this time, my old shiner - you're plain wrong. This album genuine emotion, genuine talent, genuine melody and genuinely good songs. 9/10.

I can't say that I liked a lot of what was going on here... at all, but let's face it. 'All fired up' is one f*cker of an awesome song! Worth it for that alone... though maybe it's best to save your money and tape it off the radio sometime

I agree with the running out of steam points. "All Fired Up" is one kick ass song though. "Suffer The Little Children" is a competent stop-child-abuse song. The rest is sub-par.

I'm really surprised at the lukewarm comments to this overlooked Melodic Rock/AOR gem. 'Don't Walk Away' and 'Cerebral Man' are absolutely killer! The rest of the cd is great - there really aren't any songs on this cd I don't like. I suggest giving this another spin....

I'm with lemas156 on this one. This one is very under-rated. I really liek this one and it has some great songs on it like All Fired Up , Cerebral Man and Cool Zero. This one is a pleasant suprise. 81/100

metalmastermusic - I'm glad you dig this cd, too. I played this disc for my guitar player tonight and he, too, dug much of the cd, with 'Cerebral Man' winning first place. IMO, this disc has some Pat's best vocal work...she seriously kicks ass and takes names all over the cd. Neil also delivers the goods...a very underrated guitarist. I just got a Japanese copy of this cd, so I've been re-visiting these tunes and I had forgotten how much I loved this album.
