Great effort from a great band. Killer guitar chops and super harmonies. Simply wonderful.

From: mixaplic Date: June 13, 2001 at 23:08
This is the 2nd best effort from Y&T. It has some eary 70's rawness mixed with 80's ability. Like contagious this one's a must for any true R&R fan. If it doesn't excite you then I'd say your dead.

From: Greg Date: June 23, 2001 at 11:42
Along with Earthshaker and Black Tiger, this album completes a fantastic trilogy of albums by Y&T that the band was hard pressed to surpass in later releases. Mean Streak includes their best single, 'Midnight In Tokyo,' and the only problem is that it's too short. In my personal rating of Y&T albums, this album ranks second out of all their albums.

From: msosam66@hotmai Date: January 3, 2002 at 15:23
One of the best albums of hard rock of the eighties, the style in this work joined the raw of the british rock, and the melodies and chorus used by the american rock, a really good record.

From: Scott Date: February 21, 2002 at 12:50
A very good hard rock CD...The song Mean Streak is one of my favorite songs from this band.

From: Mauricio Date: March 23, 2003 at 18:05
I agree with Greg, this one, Earthshaker and Black Tiger are the best albuns from Y & T. Very classic!!!

From: RR-Finland Date: September 15, 2003 at 1:50
I havenīt heard their first albums, but this one is real gold piece! Thereīs no bad tracks at all and Meniketti-Alves couple works really well. I have no idea about this band, you should buy this and start it here.

From: RR-Finland Date: September 15, 2003 at 1:53
No, what I meant was: If YOU donīt have idea about this band, go buy it. I have to take a writing lessons.....

From: cruise Date: September 15, 2003 at 16:39
A superb heavy rock album with amazing songs delivered in the same raw, energetic style as its predecessors. Another classic from a band who have rarely put a foot wrong. 9/10

From: jose-spain Date: October 24, 2003 at 11:40
The first album I heard from Y & T, and perhaps, the best for me. Though the made another brilliant lp's, this is my favourite. Songs as 'Midnight in Tokyo' or 'Mean streak' are difficult to compose nowadays, and Meniketti's guitar and voice is supreme. One of the top 10 hard rock records in all the times.

From: Metal Pete Date: February 5, 2004 at 19:23
'Mean Streak' was my first taste of Y&T, and how sweet it was! A terrific band, with some great albums. I include 'In Rock We trust' among them also, as well as 'Down for the Count'. I don't have the full 'trilogy' mentioned by others here yet, but I intend to change that. REally great music from these guys. They deserved better.

From: holyroller Date: February 15, 2004 at 21:26
This was my first Y&T album (even though I got it in 1990) and it still brings back a lot of memories. If you want to hear a truly ripping guitar solo, I direct you to 'Straight Thru The Heart'.

From: Impaler Date: February 22, 2004 at 0:14
Mean Streak is one of my all time favorite songs. For some reason I just didn't get into this album as much as Black Tiger or In Rock We Trust. Still, this is a good one to have and probably worth the $20 to get it.

From: Edward Date: May 26, 2004 at 11:05
I can gladly say that this is my favorite album by Y&T. The album cover is cool, the songs are cool. Anything that they did is cool. Did I mention that the album cover is cool? hehehe....One of the best album covers I've seen in my 20 years' life.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 30, 2004 at 23:52
One more year, one more excellent album by the band. Their song 'Mean Streak' might rank as the bands finest moment, and other excellent songs include 'Midnight In Tokyo' and 'Hang 'Em High'. 9/10

From: Uusiolli Date: August 5, 2004 at 17:25
Slight disappointment after Earthshaker and Black Tiger. Quite same style as Black Tiger, with slightly weaker songs.

From: Maiden1979 Date: September 9, 2004 at 19:45
One of the best hard rock albums ever!

Not quite up there with 'Earthshaker' or 'Black Tiger' as this has a couple of fillers onboard, but still an excellent collection of Melodic hard rock.

From: Metalhead66 Date: January 25, 2005 at 12:10
Man this one Really Dented my young Metal Head Back in the day!! I got this one when it came out(I Hated the Group's Name at the Time)...Dave playing some Great guitar,He never gets Mentioned by Us Guitar Players as much as HE SHOULD!!! Very Under-Rated Band!!!9/10!!

From: Geoff Date: October 31, 2005 at 23:07
Fans of straight forward hard rock must have lapped these guys up at the time. Once again, another collection of straight ahead hard rockers for the collection. No stand-out here for me, but again very consistent.

From: PAUL Date: November 1, 2005 at 6:38
Now you're right Geoff. Y&T golden trilogy completed with another 'must' for any serious hardrock collector. This album has everything...clear production, melodies, heavy songs, ballads everything! Dave is a great vocalist and his guitar playing is also excellent. Just listen to the riff of the s/t track, and you'll leave breathless!

From: akisryche Date: December 31, 2005 at 10:00
Y&T is one of the best and yet very underrated hard rock bands ever!In my opinion every record from Eartshaker to Ten is from a masterpiece to great.Meanstreak is no exception and it belongs to their masterpieces.Pure f****n heavy rock from a great US band. They should have been huge but...Anyway genuine rockers know what Im talking about. This record along with previous 2 is hard to find and a little bit expensive,32 euros!!!, but internet(emule)is a good resource.Owe it and rock your asses high!

Y&T have re-released two of their classics, 'Meanstreak' & 'Black Tiger'. Each disc has been digitally re-mastered, and contains a bonus track that was taken from the 24-track master reel from the 1981 'Black Tiger' recording sessions & was finished in 2005 with new lyrics, vocals, guitar solo and then remixed. Pick 'em up directly from the band at: http://www.meniketti.com/en-us/dept_1.html

From: swriter Date: January 3, 2006 at 19:09
with Black Tiger being with no doubts one of my top ten of the 80's, Mean Streak is a step behind with some great tunes, Mean Streak, Straight Heart, Lonely, Tokyo and Limit, WHAT A DYNAMIC SOUNDING NEW REMASTER!!!

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: January 19, 2006 at 11:17
I said it before here..This one really dented my head....I heard recently that they were going to re-master this...Man that would be Great!!!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 20, 2011 at 21:33
In the same line as Black Tiger i'd say but weaker(agree with you Uusiolli)...great & fave tracks are "Mean Streak","Take You To The Limit" & "Down And Dirty"...another goodie songs could be "Lonely Side Of Town","Breaking Away" & "Hang'Em High"...Y&T is a band that has never released a bad album IMHO...all of them have its interesting moments and this is not the exception...weaker or stronger but at the end it'll hook you up! ...90/100

From: hair metal again Date: July 10, 2012 at 9:55
excellent hard rock release by Y&T !amazing band with Dave Meniketti being one of the best hard rockers around!the only problem with this one is the production of Chris Tsagarides which is quite metal for Y&T and doesnt fit them!as always great anthems like "mean streak","midnight in tokyo","lonely side of town"!Y&T roxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!
