I liked this one. From the day I heard "Seven O'clock" on MTV's Hard 60, I had to pick this one up. It reminded me of 70's era Rod Stewart with Jeff Beck on guitar but it had its own personality too. Check this one out. I still hear "Seven O'clock" on some radio stations at what other time than 7 pm.

This album pretty much bored me...it isn't really bad, but it isn't my cup of tea and I was a bit disappointed with it...I could have just saved my money and put in "Shake Your Moneymaker"...I wouldn't call this sleaze glam at all. I did enjoy Seven O'clock but could have done without the rest...

Firstly this is not glam. Rather a bluesy bar music. It can be in the category of Black Crowes with being a little more commercial. Not a super album but its basis is strong and in some parts it can be enjoyable to listen actually. "7 O'clock", "Hey You" and "There She Goes Again" are my favourites.

Really good album but a bit slow at times. Glam? No WAY! This is not really down'n'dirty stuff like Johnny Crash, but it's very bluesy. Not like glam at all. My favourite track is Whippin' Boy, and second is I Don't Love You Any More, which is interesting considering so many people have a different favourite.

The band are very much influenced by classic British rock. In addition to the Faces/Rod Stewart, I detect a little bit of Free. Good album, but perhaps it's a little TOO derivative.

I found this in a pawn shop and the band name on it is "Quireboys", not "London Quireboys" with the label being Parlophone not Capitol. I take it this is a British import but why is the band name different? Also is this a rare cd or are there 500,000 of these littering Manchester alone? If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it.

great band and album. had the thunder stolen from them by the black crowes. sound a little too much like the band the faces from the 70's that rod stewart sang for. the whole album is great. i've never heard the second album but i can't imagine its bad. their brand new album this is rock n roll is awesome.

Check also their latest album "This is rock`n roll" released in 2001 on Sanctuary records and the -96 album Spike & Tyla`s Hot knives "Flagrantly yours" A really good rock n`roll album. Yes it is Tyla from Dogs d`amour.

I was just listening to 7 O'clock. I had no idea these guys sounded like this????? This tune reminds me of Rod Stewart. By looking at the cover of this album you would think these guys would sound more like Pretty Boy Floyd or something gay like that.... Well, than again, Rod Stewart's a poop-shootin' homo, right?

Eirik, I agree with you. Their 2002 album is awesome. Spike and Tyla's cd is incredible!! Also heard that Spike released a solo cd (Blue Eyed Soul) and had another with a band called God's Hotel. Haven't heard either, though.

Except "7 O'Clock", this is pretty generic, by-the-book Black Crowes-Faces-Rod Stewart rock. Get any Crowes record instead.

This an awesome album, I love that Faces vibe, the songs from this album are great but I wouldn't say that they were Black Crowes clones, the Quireboys were more basic.

I really have to disagree with anyone who believes the Quireboys were some Black Crowes wannabee band. In fact I would rate A Bit Of What You Fancy much higher than I would Shake Your Money Maker (Black Crowes) though I love both bands. And a side not...I believe they had to call themselves "London Quireboys" in the US due to some legal reasons. But everwhere else, they are simply known as Quireboys. this period. They included lots of non album tracks. Also Guy Bailey had a teriffic band called Dog Kennel Hill who released "Sweethearts Of The Rodeo" back in 1999. Also Guy Griffin had his own band called Glimmer who released "Silver Zone" in 1999. And one more band to mention would be Nigel Mogg's band Nancy Boy who released an album in 1996. Lots of good music from Dog Kennel Hill and Glimmer but wasn't a huge fan of Nancy Boy, but it's all worth a listen for all those Quireboys Fans.

Found this in the used C.D. section @ Hasting's Records in Longview, Texas. I remembered the song "Seven O'clock" from years ago so I gave this C.D. a few spins. I would not recommend this album if you are looking for Glam or Hair Band Metal and there is nothing really hard about it. There were some similiarities to the Black Crowes, but I would not call them a copy of that band. It is more like bluesy party music with a vocalist that sounds like Rod Stewart. I no longer own the C.D.

I want to leave it alone and just let the fans enjoy this without my unappreciative shitty words, but I have to say it. This is just one of the worst and hardest to listen to CDs I have ever owned. 'Oh, for the love of god will it stop!' I cried when I played it first. I scraped it on an angle grinder, played pin the dagger on the CD with it... and yeah, it sounded better... but still too close to shit to me so I sold it. IMO - PURELY - it is just bluesy drivel with no value at all. Sorry!!!

It's one of the best glam albums ever. I remember the time I played Sweet Mary Ann with my friends (fans of grunge but still appreciating the talent of the Boys) - a lot of fun. Good party rock n' roll music. Geoff, don't like the style, don't talk shit Rate it 10/10.

Used to go see the Quireboys alot at the time of the debut, as i knew the girlfriend of Chris the keyboard player. Great band live they were aswell. Very Good Faces influenced stuff and definately NOT A F**ING GLAM band by any stretch of the imagination.

I havent heard this cd in a long time, but I do remember it being pretty darn good.........Spike really has the Faces-era Rod Stewart vibe. Pick up a copy of "A Nod is as good as a wink" by the Faces & you'll see......anyways, Great cd, this band should have made it bigger than they did!!

excelent work by these guys, i remember when it came out, most part of rock bands wore so boring, almost everything was very similar, these guys wore fresh air to me. a pitty they had the kick out and black crows tock the gold. this album is far better! thanks a lot quireboys! you rocked!!

This is an excellent release !! I've had this as one of my faves for a long time. They have a very unique sound that no one has been able to mimic. If I had to compare someone it may have just a touch of Black Crowes to it. This is by far their best work to date. Best tracks 1,4,6 and 8. This is a must have disc. 90/100

You are completely spot on Metalmastermusic!!!...excellent album or debut!!!....i don't agree with the comparison though...The Black Crowes is more southerm rather than this bluesy Rock'n'Roll!!!.I had the chance to see them live as a support act to Aerosmith back in the late 80's (wonderful show by the way!!!)& they basically kicked butts to dead!!!.The songs are outstanding with that "unique" sound and are worth every dime of your pocket!!!.90/100

In fact, many bands considered amateurish are better than "the proffesional ones". The Quireboys can be the best example of the former. Their music is obviously inspired by Faces and other glam rock bands but I have to say that they are better than any of those bands. 8/10

this is the QUIREBOYS debut release and from the start you realize they are a unique band.they knew exactly what they wanted to do ,good old rock n roll with a harder edge .spike s voice soundslike rod stewart s which is a good thing.many good songs,nice rockin attitude and the QUIREBOYS offer a solid hard rock record.check them out cause they still rock the house with even better releases

I bought this one due to the song "Hey You" but back then I didn't dig it too much. Now, almost 15 years later, it turned out to be one of the cd's I play the most. But I can´t consider it Glam or Sleazy, for me it's dirty rock 'n roll with a bluesy touch. 87/100

The opening song 7 O'clock sets a high standard. The lead singer has a Rod Stewart rasp that suits this Stonesy kind of sleaze rock. The honky tonk piano is a nice addition. The rest of the album can't reach the high of the first track, but it is still enjoyable enough. 70/100.
