Train Of Thought certainly is yet another proof of the diversity and talent of the band. A classic metal album if ever I heard one, and is proof that the band is most certainly progressive in the true sense of the word, as they have taken us yet again on a ride which we never experienced before! |

Was never a big fan of Dream Theater.....until I heard "As I Am" on the online radio station I listen to. Then when I heard "Endless Sacrifice".......WOW!!! Now, I'm hooked!! Great record!!! |

What a band ! What a talent ! What a new record ! HEAVY AS HELL ! BUT ALSO GREAT ! This is fantastic stuff ! Even not fans of the band will like this ! It's a classic and in my humble opinion, second best album of the year, after the mighty Pride Of Lions ! |

This album was a dissapointment....Why don't they just copy the formula from the album 'Images & Words'. This album is only average at best.... |
From: Delibriand | Date: December 21, 2003 at 7:39 |
Much better than SDOIT, Dream Theater is as heavy as it gets. The best musicians alive + inspiration + great lyrics + heavy distortions = Train of Thought! 10 of 10. |

Well, at first I thought this was the worst album they ever done. Unfortunately this adjective isn't suitable for this band:after an acurate listening I told myself:"Wow, these guys will never die". A different one, a heavy one, but a great one. Of course not as '92 or '99 records, not much melody, but man, last 2 tracks kick ass. GRATEST BAND OF XX AND XXI ct. I'm seeing them in 2 days so... |

the best record as images, awake and scenes. a more complex and mature band, with powerful composition and great melodies. listen honor thy father and the epic in the name of god. the heart bits faster. the evolution was right. |
From: Rodimus | Date: March 4, 2004 at 20:28 |
Each album is a new experience. Dream theater changes thier style slightly, every album. Imgs & wrds was melodic, Awake was Heavy melodic, Fallng into Infinity was kind of jazzy rock with a hard edge, mtro.prt.2 was a mix of melodic and hard rock, Six degrees was just all of the above, and train of thought is Metal. It sounds like metallica. Still it is a great album and something you cannot be without, with its complexity, but in this album they make music instead of trying impress musicians. |

Perfect!I dont know if this band will ever make something better than this one!It is much heavier than the other albums, something between Black Sabbath, Pantera, Metallica. With their magic touch, they made another CLASSIC album. These musicians are in an other space, in an other time...LA BRIE is better than ever! |

Good Album - it was a total surprise after Six Deegres Of Inner Turbulance. I expected something like SDOIT but this album is something different. It's the heaviest album Dream Theater ever made. Most likeable song is This Dying Soul, which contnoue the Glass Prison song from SDOIT. Still This are Dream Theater and Dream Theater only make masterpieces and this certainly is too. Mike Portnoy sure does sweat on this album ). |

I'm a big DT fan, but I couldn't get into Six Degrees for some reason. This album seems more focused and to the point. Much better. |

From: SOC2004 | Date: June 2, 2005 at 18:17 |
Dream Theater's best album since 1994's Awake. There aren't any singable choruses or sappy ballads to be heard on this album! Just pure straight ahead, angry progressive metal! Dare I even say this album is better than Images and Words? The band really taps into their metal roots with influences of old schoold Metallica and Iron Maiden. This is the record the I have been waiting waiting 9 years to hear. Highlights - Honor Thy Father, SOC, and This Dying Soul. |
From: dokkenfan | Date: December 7, 2005 at 22:21 |
This album fucking rules. I can't believe everybody bashes this album. In the Name of God is amazing. As I Am and This Dying Soul rock hard. Just pure heavy metal. |

Enjoyable album!!!...even though i'm not very keen on "long lasting songs" i could easily say that i really enjoy it ..."As I Am" is simply the best cut in here IMHO...tracks 2,3 & 7 also rock!!!...93/100 |
