The final album to bear the Blackfoot name. A good, solid Southern rock/Blues album, and similar to the previous 'Medicine Man' release. 'Sittin' On Top Of The World' is a goodie, but my pick goes to an excellent cover of Van Morrison's 'Tupelo Honey'. The title track is also worth a mention as Zakk Wylde provides a nice 2nd lead. Nothing spectacular, but a solid album worthy of attention.

Is the production any good ??? It's 2005 you know....

From: AOR freaky Date: January 31, 2005 at 9:59
Kiddin' with other persons here, Wotty ! ? The masks are falling now ! I was right (should have know it sooner, the fool I am !). And no, the production on LAD 2 is NOT good, but the worst I've ever heard (and I'm not the only one to say that, read on on several sites). This is one is reasonable. Blackfoot has always been a special band.

A valid point now.If L.A.D's production is so bad and you heard Soul Sirkus on soundbites and did'nt rate it,why on earth did you buy said albums. And the phrase is,"what kind of fool am I " and one for good measure,"A fool and his money are soon parted"

Freaky - the production on the debut LAD release was pretty shite aswell -a problem cropping up on a few of Frontiers releases lately (the latest Sign album 2nd Coming being an obvious one - although thinking about it, the debut Sign album was pretty average aswell, as much as i love that one). I know the budget ain't there, but i have recorded stuff that sounds better than this stuff, at a fraction of the cost i'll bet. After the soundbites of LAD II -I wont be buying.

Thanks, Wotty, my english is not that good, you know that ! I ordered the LAD II CD, cause I thought it would be like the first one ! What a mistake ! I bought the SoulsirkUS CD to give my opinion about it and to hear what people said, was true. Both are DISAPPOINTING ! The LAD album is pure crap ! SoulsirkUS isn't crap, I only don't like it that much and there are much better heavy rock albums around. Now you know it Wotty ! On a personal note, you disappoint me, man. What kind of fool am I

From: AOR freaky Date: January 31, 2005 at 10:27
I fully agree with you on this one, Jez ! Indeed, how much I like Frontiers, their productions are indeed worse and worse every day. Yes, also The Sign isn't that good and I tell you more, even the new Final Frontier has a rather bad production. A pity for such a good band. And boy, don't buy the new LAD, Jez ! This is really the worst of the worst production. Those who don't believe me, are spoiling their hard earned money ! Would be sad. Every one has been warned. Decision is yours.

Under-rated. The current rating is 6.3 but I give this one a 9.0 . I like every track on this one and although it's not the original band, I think it sounds more like them than the originals themselves did at the end. I highly recommend this one to anyone that likes their early music or any fan of good times hard blues rock.

Why the hell are there comments about LAD and Soul Sircus on this page??? After the reign is a GREAT album. Medicine man was shit. The two of them got nothing in common. Nobody rides for free and after the reign are great hard rockers. Bandelaro must be the most wonderful accoustic instrumental piece I've evr heard in my life...if anyone on this site has some soul listen to it and come tell me about it...The rest is accoustic ballads and blues. Tupelo Honey, Rainbow, It's all over now and Tonight are as sweet as can get. And I even enjoy the bluesy numbers. How I wish Medlocke would do another Blackfoot album...He has a fantastic voice...

I a big fan of the Foots since their very beggining...this one is more relaxed than any other releases but still very enjoyable to listen to...perhaps is more into southern/country than their pure southern rock music they have displayed through their career..."Sittin'On The Top Of The World","Nobody Rides For Free" and "After The Reign"(this one is excellent!) are songs that are tipically Blackfoot songs!!!.80/100

excellent release for BLACKFOOT back in 94 with great hard rockers like "after the reign","nobody rides for free",ballads like "it s all over now" and southern feel songs like "the road s my middle name",'hang time"!sounds overall so real and faithful to their basics!recommended
