WELL WELL..I DISCOVERED PANTERA IN THE 80 WITH THIS FANTASTIC LP OF MELODIC HARD ROCK IN VEIN OF EARLY DEF LEPPARD DOKKEN GREAT VOCALS AND GLAM ATTITUDE VERY PLEASENT MUSIC NOTHING TO SEE WITH THE GREAT NOISE THEY DO TODAY.

I like this album. It is a mix of old Def Leppard, old Motley Crue and old RATT. if you havn't heard it I think you will be supprised !!!

From: Agnar Date: November 23, 2003 at 22:42
GREAT! some fantastic tracks and a guitar solo 'blue lite' that kicks! Even if i prefer the 'POWER METAL' album: it's a very must!

From: Hunt Date: December 7, 2003 at 17:46
Two words come to mind when I think about this album. 'Def' and 'Leppard.' Pantera recorded this? No wonder they're so modest about their past! If you're into spandex, spikes, big hair and leather vests, get this album.

From: Mattowarrior Date: February 5, 2004 at 18:57
A more 'proper' debut than Metal Magic in my opinion. I think it reflects more of a Dokken influence (euro metal and bluesy pop metal meets a touch of more traditional metal) than Def Leppard. Its quite good for what it is, though they didn't really find their stride til I am The Night or Power Metal.

I bought the reborn classics reissues of all 4 pantera pre- cowboys cd's. Not bad. A must have for a collecter. I wish I could play like dime though.....

From: John Date: March 29, 2004 at 23:50
where the hell can I get this thing? I have every album by them from RTS to Power Metal... all the phil albums, but I cant find the three with terrance!! Where could I find a cd of these??

From: Dean Date: March 30, 2004 at 0:46
John- As I've said before, the only surefire way to hear these is go to www.mothermetal.com and get a month's subscription -for about 15.00 you can download all the early Pantera albums-they got some of the artwork too. For the real things try Ebay-they pop up once in a while but be prepared to pay a pretty penny. As far as i know they were never officially released on cd but there are bootlegs floating around.

From: T-Bone Date: March 30, 2004 at 5:36
You can download all 3 of the first albums from Kazaa or WinMX. Then you can get the artwork from http://www.kanged.com/pantera/pantglam.asp

Jack, go to www.BrutalMetal.com, their later albums don't fit the genre qualifications for this site.

Pantera sucked back then and sucked when they jumped on the thrash band wagon. Heavy Metal Rules lyrics are really stupid but it rocks. It and Power Metal are the only slightly decent songs Pantera ever did.

Very Good Melodic Hard album, Hola otra vez Chavales me tomo un tiempo despues de tanto trabajo para relajarme y hacer lo que mas me gusta escuchar la MEJOR MUSICA Y DAR OPINIONES, Ja la gran mayoria en el mundo conocen a Pantera a partir de la entrada de Anselmo y sus voces desgarradas y ese hardcore que no es mi fuerte, por eso estoy aca comentando este buen album, un disco con grandes cortes y a destacar el mejor de Pantera tanto en album como en corte ese tema es Takin' My Life

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: July 9, 2005 at 17:08

Not the Pantera the world is familiar with, but rather good, solid upbeat melodic rock in the vein of Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and the Scorpion. I would have to rate "All Over Tonight" as one of the top 10 hard rock songs of all time. Those looking to purchase this CD should try either www.heavyrock.com or www.cdwell.com. Both offer the record for a reasonable price and no eBay bidding war.

got this and I am the night on a C.D..Very Cool!! Think Def Leppard with Eddie VH playin lead...kinda...It's really good....Gotta laugh cause they play the music SO well...10/10

Killer album of pure US MELODIC METAL. Sound very much like DEF LEPPARD i agree. I still have this on vinyl like their other 3 first albums and i think this is my fave. Songs like PROJECTS IN THE JUNGLE(very heavy, sound a little like the debut FISTFULL OF METAL album by ANTHRAX), HEAVY METAL RULES, the DEF LEPPARD sounding LIKE FIRE or KILLERS are classics of the metal underground that only people from the underground will understand.

From: JarWi Date: May 27, 2006 at 7:01
The best thing they've ever done. Especially Takin' My Life deserves attention. Now I know where John Parr got the inspiration to write his Ghost Driver And Terrence Lee's voice too reminds me a bit of that of Joe Elliott.

From: Fat Freddy Date: October 20, 2006 at 13:08
So I finally get to hear Pantera with Terrence Lee on vocals... not bad, not bad at all. Somewhat in the vein of Def Leppard circa PYROMANIA with a hint of Keel's THE RIGHT TO ROCK. This is good stuff, I like it better than the angry tough guy crap they were peddling once they got big.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: September 6, 2008 at 20:17
This is way better than Metal Magic, and the Def-Lep-with-EVH comparisons are dead-on. This really reminds me of a somewhat wilder High 'n' Dry, with Terry sounding like a screamier Joe Elliott. "All Over Tonight," "Out For Blood," "Like Fire," and the title track are all terrific, and "Heavy Metal Rules" is musically very cool too, but yeah, the lyrics are pretty dumb. But it was 1984, most metal lyrics were stupid. Guys, if you still need this stuff, I have it, or you can just Google the band and album name, plus "mediafire" or "Rapidshare" and you'll most likely come up with a link you can pinch it from. S'what I did.

From: metalalways Date: August 26, 2009 at 13:51
This Pantera CD they definetly sound like Def Leppard maybe a more heavier Def Leppard i love the songs Heavy Metal Rules!, Blue Lite Turnin' Red, Out For Blood, Projects In The Jungle, Takin My Life heck i love them all they were getting heavier with each CD coming out wish Pantera still played this type of music now it's sad about Diamond "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott getting killed on stage he was and still is a killer guitar player he could really play really fast and aggresive he'll live on forever in our hearts and through the CDS that we play.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: August 26, 2009 at 15:08
I think changing styles like they did was the best move Pantera could've made at that point. I mean, they were four albums in, no major label deal, and even though those were good records, they just weren't making them stand out from the crowd. And that's exactly what Cowboys From Hell did, made a statement, set them apart. Only then did things really begin to happen for them, although Power Metal got the ball rolling.

The first Pantera album I ever heard way back in the early 80's and my favorite. I finally have all their early albums on cd since I picked up Power Metal today. For me the first four albums are the only Pantera cd's I need to own as this is the Pantera I grew up listening to in Texas. When they changed styles to the more aggressive stuff I lost interest.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 6, 2014 at 18:48
Quite a cool album with that glammy and AORish feel in the songs, obviously Terrence Lee would have never fitted in the Anselmo's era type of songs but while he lasted on this"project" it was nice indeed...my fave songs are tracks 1,2(rocks!),4,5(AOR-ish),8(rocks!)& 9...enjoyable stuff IMHO...85/100

From: hair metal again Date: April 3, 2023 at 12:37
Excellent release for PANTERA with the DEF LEPPARD comparison being quite reasonable offering great songs and a fine 80 s metal vibe!all the songs stad out and especially "takin my life","in over my head","like fire"! great stuff
