Definitely the best of the four pre-"Cowboys From Hell" Pantera releases. The band adds Phil Anselmo at vocals and starts to shed the "hair metal" image of the previous three albums. The title track is probably the best tune here. "Over and Out" could be considered the first "true" Pantera song. "P.S.T. 88" features a rare vocal performance by "Diamond" Darrell. "Rock The World", "Hard Ride", and "We'll Meet Again" are all solid tracks as well. Pick this one up if you can find it. 8.5/10

Decent Metal album, no el mejor como ponen arriba claro que no, es un album decente con algunos toques de Hard, el disco recomendado es el Projects In The Jungle ese si que les gustara a todos, asi que consiganlo.

It took forever but I finally tracked down copies of the 4 infamous "Glam-tera" albums. Y'know what? I think I like Pantera better as a hair band!! COWBOYS FROM HELL was OK but everything after that was too angry/noisy for me. Phil A. takes over the vocals here and delivers a disc that is sort of a cross between the slickness of Def Leppard and the crunch of Judas Priest. It's still a long way from COWBOYS but they were definitely heading for heavier pastures here.

Very solid 80s metal. This album is the album that most people who hated Judas Priest's foray into more commercial fare in the late 80s wish they would have recorded. The best songs here are "Over and Out", "Death Trap", "We'll Meet Again", and the title track.

Killer album! My fave Glam-tera album. Best songs on here are Over And Out, Proud To Be Loud, Burnn and Power Metal. Little known fact: Marc Ferrari (guitarist of Keel) wrote the song Proud To Be Loud and gave it to Pantera. Keel eventually recorded it on one of their later albums. Marc Ferrari also plays the ending solo of We Meet Again.

This Pantera is definetly a killer the best out of the first four CDS i love Over And Out, Down Below, Rock The World, Proud To Be Loud and most of all P.S.T. 88 the only song that Dimebag Darrell sings lead vocals and also the first CD with Phil Anselmo this one was a transitional CD they were going from Glam To Thrash they sound like a mixture of both which really makes this one cool that's cool that Ron Keel made Proud To Be Loud for Pantera i haven't heard his version of it yet but i bet it rocks.

Phil Anselmo in tow, Pantera get their Priest on more fully than ever before with the aptly named Power Metal. Not necessarily a good thing, as Anselmo goes overboard on the wannabe Halfordisms. Songs are faster and less glammy-sounding (no lyrics about ice-cream cones this time out), but they're clearly still searching for their sound. Most all the songs are good, but none are great, even for the style. Seriously, the radical stylistic change they would make beginning with Cowboys From Hell was the best thing they could've done. Four albums in and they were still just a regional band self-releasing their music. Even with Z-Rock promoting them, they were going nowhere, and had they stuck with this style, they would've been forgotten.

First album with Anselmo...still somehow conserving the sound of their previous albums but directing them into a more metal edgy side..."Rock The World","Power Metal"(ala Raven),"Proud To Be Loud","Down Below" & "Burnnn!" are killer tracks!!!...88/100

Great album! It's kind of unfortunate that they've disowned the album, or at least started to in the early 1990s. Lots of really good songs on this one.
