I was told that this release was not in the same vein as Push It Hard, and not even good. that could not be further from the truth. while this cd is not as good as push it hard, (what is?), it is very good still, and in the same vein. Glad a friend of mine set me straight on how good it was, (thanks J), Mississippi Burnin' is worth the price all by itself!!! |

I just bought this off ebay for $200 and all I can say is that it's worth every cent. Amazing release!! Push It Hard, their first release is supposed to be even better!! I guess it's time to find that one. 10/10!! |

From: anamal | Date: October 15, 2005 at 15:51 |
will hunt is now the drummer for Dark New Day..and has played with many bands since the breakup of ELI..to name a few, Tommy Lee,Skrape..very underrated drummer.. |

Its hard to make a sophomore album as good as your debut. IMO, Push It Hard was flawless. This was ok......I don't know if it was me or not, but it didn't have the same sound as the first.......kinda like the second Swedish Erotica album. |

There is hard to find a flaw in Mississippi Burnin'. Killer track. Does the rest stand up? Well, it does not touch Push It Hard in terms of song writing but these are five (the first track is basically an intro) very listenable tunes. I guess I am lucky to have heard them and to play them at my convenience. Hopefully you can too. |

Sweet Christ! What a sound this album has! Ten tonne balls hammer the speakers as the guys belt out 5 killer tracks. Man, I'd have loved to hear a full album of this stuff. After hearing a bunch of shitty indies recently, this continues a stretch of higher quality ones. Excellent song writing, outstanding musicianship... the balls - it's just awesome. Reminds me a little of Winger's 'Pull'. IMO this album is a MUST. Favourite songs are all 5. Really, I love 'em all! Highly recommended! (CDR) |

this band was one to be reconed with. in the early 90,s we ruled the southern regional circuit. the drummer will joined right out of high school and learned to play while touring with us. he has later gone on to play with dark new day, motley crue, tommy lee, and scrape. he is probably one of the top 10 drummers in america today. You can hear our influences, there are traces dokken, ratt and mississppi blues. being from misssissippi the song mississippi burnin was about my home town racial stuff. |

Reading some comments above it seems that their debut album Push It Hard is a lot better than this Ep...well i've found this release quite a good one,a decent vocalist(David Wolf) & acceptable tracks in here..."Beware Of The Dogs" an intro that leads us to "River Dogs" which is a song along with "Mississippi Burning","Writen In Stone" rocks good and also has a very interesting harmonica part in it & "In Your Eyes" is the AORish one...agree with Geoff about the Winger kinda "Pull" album sound ....84/100 |
