Anything with the great Mark Mangold on board is FANTASTIC. So this one to is very, very good, although I prefer Drive SHe Said. I haven't heard yet the new Drive She Said, but it is ordered and I think it will be another masterpiece. Mark is probably the greatest talent in the current AOR scene !! |

Well, well, well....What an interesting line up...Can anybody tell me what this sounds like??? Anywhere near "Drive She Said"??? |
From: Shoemaker | Date: October 16, 2003 at 8:21 |
Yes, all Mangold products sound like Drive She said, poppy, melodic, hard rock. THe album is ok. |

Scandinavia, this is a real must for you ! As always, what we get here is real fine AOR from Mark Mangold. The man is a pure genius, so it has to be good ! |

The name's Mystic Healer but there's nothing mystic about the sound: vintage Drive, She Said. Assembly-line AOR with some Steve Perry vocal influence, namely, "You Hold My Heart" and "Crossed My Heart". Fans of Departure's "Corporate Wheel" can also buckle up for a cool AOR ride. |

If Michael Bolton had sung lead instead of a few backing vocals on this it would have been a good follow-up to his "Everybodys Crazy" opus.Great backing musicians here. |

Magnificent album!! No less than 10/10 from me...It doesn't get any better AOR wise... |

This CD reminds me of tickling my balls with a feather. Both are amusing and both very light on the entertainment side. This is a very lite album. I'm not a fan of Drive She Said at all, but think they have about 4 decent songs spanned accross the first two CDs. That said, this CD sounds like DSS out-takes and IMO is just a bunch of keyboard driven fillers. Sorry guys, really am but they're my thoughts. Very poor album IMO. |

Hmmmm...Well, it actually contains some D,SS outtakes but I think the quality is VERY high here...Production could've been better but the talent of Mark Mangold completely compensates for that fact... I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!! |

Fantastic poppy AOR in the vein of Drive, She Said and Departure. Steve Perry-type vocals highlight this enjoyable fluff disc. It is quite enjoyable just not everyone's cup of tea. |

MUY BUEN DISCO!! Claro que si. Muy buenas composiciones, aunque si bien, algunas carezcan de gancho, tenemos excelentes temazos como la inicial "Crosed My Heart" y "If You Ever Fall" que muestran muy buenas melodías y arreglos y hacen que el disco gane puntos con sucesivas escuchas. Aqui Mark Mangold me parece mejor que con DRIVE SHE SAID; Todd Googing a ratos me suena a Steve Perry. Disco para TENER EN CUENTA |

Grandioso disco, para mí un clásico y a la altura del 1º de DSS y claro que sí, suenan mucho a ellos. Todd Googing me suena mas a Al Fritsch.

OF COURSE THIS EASY COULD BE A DRIVE SHE SAID CD,BECAUSE ALL THE SONGS EXCEPT ONE, ARE OF THE DRIVE SHE SAID ERA DEMOS,"CROSSED MY HEART" OPENS REMINDS US ON VOCALS AL FRITSCH, GREAT JOB BY TODD GOOGING YES A MIX BETWEEN STEVE PERRY AND AL FRITSCH,"IF YOU EVER FALL" ONE OF MY FAVS AOR WITH CLASS, "TONIGHT" ANOTHER HIGHLIGHT AOR MOMENT,"YOU HOLD MY HEART" ANOTHER FAVS KILLER SONG,"YOU NEVER KNOW WITH MAGIC" REMINDS THE TOUCH ERA GREAT POMP AOR, AGREE WITH AOR FREAKY: MARK MANGOLD IS THE MAN WITH THE MAGIC, A COMPLETE MUSICIAN, ONE OF THE BEST KEYBOARD PLAYERS IN THE AOR SCENE. THIS CD DOESN'T SOUND RECOREDED IN 1998, FOR ME IT'S PURE AOR 80'S. LONG LIVE TO THAT DUO MARK MANGOLD-AL FRITSCH. |

I agree with Geoff. I bought this album because I loved the first Sign album and read the reviews on this page. Frankly Mr Shankly I wouldn't give you the steam off me piss for this one. It's rubbish. Call me old fashioned but shouldn't Melodic Rock come with some melody and rock at least even if it's only a little bit? 20/100 and that's only because I feel sorry for them. |
From: peter-poland | Date: October 7, 2008 at 12:09 |
AOR with a touch of pop and pomp. For fans of DSS (If you're a DSS fan, and you're afraid you won't like it, no way. It's not gonna happen.) Also reminds me a bit of Agent(Canada) and Michael Bolton (The Hunger era). Very good album, worth owning (but those who like it HARD,and don't like keyboard driven AOR should avoid it Oh, and "It Must Be Love " is a rewritten DSS's song "It's Gonna Take a Miracle" from Drivin Wheel album. |
From: Photochromic Steve | Date: November 6, 2008 at 17:19 |
Decent AOR in the vein of Drive She Said - hardly surprising really. Like nearly all Mark Mangold's offerings, just about every song goes on at least 30 seconds too long - some just repeat and repeat and could do with being trimmed by a minute! The album has a running time of 53 minutes, but would be much better at 45 minutes. |
