Steve and Perry made an excellent team. Atomic Playboys "kicks ass." Buy this album if possible.

If anyone knows where I could obtain a copy of "Atomic Playboys" on VHS, I would be immensely appreciative. Contact me at rio1harris@aol.com

I finally found the video. Great stuff!

From: richierocker Date: May 25, 2002 at 14:31
Steve Stevens is one of the best guitar players I have ever seen live he kicks ass and his solos are awesome. Keep kickin ass Steve

From: Desslar Date: May 28, 2002 at 16:07
Hmmm... pretty mediocre. The instrumental is good and there are a couple of decent sleaze numbers, but the rest is rather dull.

i don't know why, but billy idol is not on the site.why? the billy [blond bomber] idol is for me the best on the first wave of english punk .and musicaly much more better ,and much more innovative ,charisma, than others bands of 80,90 'example'pretty boy floyd,l.a guns, i have this cd,very good, but a classic hummm..its just a good band. anyway, billy idol is the roots in early [very] punk rock n roll, its a direct communication to the people of today. billy rulez

From: James Date: July 1, 2002 at 18:49
You said it---Billy Idol is a punk artist. because of that, no matter how good he is, he should not be on here. Then again he was pretty good. This album is really good. It is worth the time to track down. Happy hunting

From: TIM Date: July 3, 2002 at 22:51
Billy did have a few songs which fit in on this site, but overall he is punk as you stated James. I think "Rebel Yell" would fit in here nicely. I love watching the guitar solo on that one.

Tim, were the hell have you been?............ there has been alot of "smack talkin'" goin' on around here lately. I could have used you just a little bit!

From: Motley Date: July 9, 2002 at 14:55
Im listening to the Xposed album (Vince Neil) and Stevens work here is amazing. Just saw the VH 1 Doc. on Billy yesterday and found a lot more than I thought. It was a great doc but still Steve did his greatest job on XPOSED. Ive only seen the video "Atomic PLayboys" and I loved it, really great but thats all I know about that band.

Hey jason, my computer was fried in a thunderstorm so I was unable to help- sorry. I'm ready to go back into battle.

From: ROBERT Date: October 23, 2002 at 10:17
VAYA PEDAZO DE HACHA!! el ex-billy Idol se sale, pero me quedo con su trabajo en el EXPOSED de Vince Neil!! es inconmensurable!!

From: R.O.D. Date: February 13, 2003 at 19:51
Steve Stevens ROCKS! One of the best and most underrated guitarists around. Whether with Billy, Vince Neail or Atomic Playboys....HE ROCKS!!

From: BRM Date: March 23, 2003 at 0:28
Agree with some of the above,STEVE is very underrated, this album has various styles of guitar/singing. The opening track is awesome, sounds/reminds me of the song SPEED he did with Billy Idol for the Speed soundtrack).Let's not forget the little anthem he did for TOP GUN, the guitar work on MJ's DIRTY DIANA and some excellent tracks with BILLY IDOL(SPEED being my favourite). Vince Neil's album Exposed does ROCK and does show Steve's ability to lay down some wicked Riffs & Solos. This album 8/10

From: Dryan Date: April 2, 2003 at 4:09
Atomic Playboys is Perry McCarty, vocals;Gregg Gerson (Billy Idol),drums;Phil Ashley (Joe Satriani,Lou Gramm),keyboards;and Bruce Turgon (Foreigner,Lou Gramm)

Damn. I didn't realize the credits were missing on this.

Vaya Monstruo!! Genial!! 7'5 sobre 10!!

From: alemano Date: January 14, 2004 at 22:55
This is an powerful album,it's heavy metal,rock,bluesrock,flamenco...i buy this record in 1990 and today in 2004 i listen to it sometimes and i enjoy it like the first time it sounds very powerful.10 over 10

From: TIM Date: January 14, 2004 at 23:43
Hey Dryan, I have the Japanese pressing, but neither Bruce nor Gregg are on there. Does your copy have those two listed? Mine is as credited above. It also has a bonus track which the U.S. version didn't include. Well, it appears Dryan hasn't been here for a long time...anyone else know? Anyways, the credits are finally here for all the fans of this album.

Listening to "Woman Of 1,000 Years" now and Steve has a pretty cool voice. Like the backing vocals as well.

From: IvoryTowerWoman Date: May 4, 2004 at 0:44
I have had this since it came out and I never tire of it. Steve's efforts on this project were superb, although he has stated many times "it is his least favorite". Stevens explosive special effects and the diversity of the songs is what makes it stand out from the rest of the pack. This album also features the only known recording to date of Stevens singing all the vocals to a song. The US version lists Stevens on bass as well. Bruce Turgeon-bass and Greg Gerson-drums went out on the tour

From: Big Papa K Date: June 15, 2004 at 3:59
Billy Idol punk? Maybe his look, but what is so punk about most of his solo work (which I am a fan of). This album shows why Stevens should not have gone off on his own. The title track is good, but another cover of "Action"? The rest is lousy hair metal. 2/10

From: Scandinavia Date: June 28, 2004 at 19:31
Again, an album available at CDON for about 10 USD... Just like DALTON, TONE NORUM etc.

From: rockman Date: September 2, 2004 at 0:54
steve stevens is a great guitarist. but this album only a standard hard rock album. nothin special. exposed [vince neil] much better than this one.

From: Geoff Date: September 2, 2004 at 23:03
I love 'Woman of a thousand years' (Especially the Bon Jovi-esque backing vocals) and the ballad 'Desperate heart' is a good one too. Overall, it is average as a lot of people say, but it's clean cut commercial hard rock.

From: Hard Rock Date: September 3, 2004 at 10:11
It's A Fantastic Hard Rock CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Blue Tequila Date: October 29, 2004 at 17:01
Despite both Ted Templeman and Beau Hill being involved with this it's very hit and miss. I loved the title track but it was hard getting into the rest of the album, especially when you know that immediately following that track is the absolute stinker of a song (imo) "Power of Suggestion". "Desperate Heart" and "Woman of 1,000 Years" are my other favs on an otherwise lackluster album. I do like the vocals, very similiar to Ian Astbury

From: Metal80s Date: December 24, 2004 at 4:54
This is a mixed bag this cd. Some of the songs are good and sound great and have great catchy riffs and melodys other songs don't. I'm pretty iffy on this cd.

From: Marc Snow Date: February 24, 2005 at 18:21
Steve steven`s unleashes in this album! Awesome

From: onemorecast Date: March 10, 2005 at 22:47
This was a great CD. I love the Sweet song Action. The song Power of Suggestion was in the first Ace Ventura movie. Steve doesn't seem to get a lot of respect, but he is dkay in my book.

From: headbanger4life Date: November 29, 2005 at 5:21
Steve Stevens is a guitar god. But I preferred his work with Billy Idol and Vince Neil's - Exposed over this. It's an average album with a good cover of "Action".

From: BIG-TIME Date: May 23, 2007 at 9:38
I dont mind this CD the Atomic Playboys is a good track the rest I think are a bit bland, defo not a good as Stevens seems to think on the Rockthology DVD. Good hard rock none the less but dont think it will rock your world...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: cacophony Date: November 16, 2007 at 14:00
Hi, there is a japanese bonus track.PLEASE someone can send it me??? THANKS.

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: January 14, 2009 at 17:34
Very good album of AOR/HardRock, An album full of good songs "Atomic Playboys", " Crackdown (My favorite", "Woman of 1,000 Years".... :coo:

From: hair metal again Date: June 17, 2010 at 1:55
excellent release by guitar wiz STEVE STEVENS in the late 80s.with the contribution of beau hill and ted tempheman and the dollars of warner the sound and production are perfect.there is high quality musicianship of course and many good songs like "atomic playboys","desperate heart","crackdown" and "pet the hot kitty".for me this is a great hair metal release

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 8, 2011 at 20:42
Very pleasant album by the former Billy Idol axeman..."Atomic Playboys" quite a track,"Action" is my personal fave,a really good song along with "Soul On Ice","Crackdown" sounds like a track taken from any Billy idol album,"Woman Of 1,000 Years" is another song & "Slipping Into Fiction" is a great ending one...87/100....
