This is a completely different style for this metal band out of Sweden. Many probably don't know that this band has been through many different styles since their inception. The lead Guitarist, Fredrik Emneus is the sole remaining band member who has remained through the many periods of this band. In 1993, this band released a self produced CD titled "Left In A Shadow" which was an awesome 4 tracker filled with memorable melodic rock. Keyboards, catchy choruses and extreme guitar work filled the

continued.....the airwaves when playing this disc. Fredrik always had a leaning toward heavy metal which promoted the move to this style. Melodic rock collectors would be well advised to seek out the "Left In A Shadow" CD for the ultimate rush!!!

Big, solid, hard rocking...and Swedish. Could there be much more I could add to that to entice potential fans to this new band? The Swedish have a certain knack of crafting out good heavy music - from AOR to metal, add Fatal Smile to the list.

Wow- it pisses me off i walked right by this band playing at Milwaukee Metalfest and didn't give them the time of day because i thought they were a nu-metal band. Later i heard an mp3 of "the Savior" and had to rush out and pick up the disc. Bands don't play like this anymore. Reminds me of Trilogy-era Yngwie without the guitar flash.

Through the first six songs I thought these guys sounded like Soundgarden (except for "The Savior"). But from songs 7-10 they get a little more like 80s rock. Still a bit heavier and less melodic than I usually like, and won't be at the top of my playlist, but for $2 this is good enough for a listen every now and then.
