Glad to see this one on the list. Fantastic AOR, better than Journey ! One of the best current AOR acts together with Mecca, 101 South, Drive She Said (their newie is a JEWEL !), Harlan Cage, Norway etc. One not to miss if you love AOR ! A MUST !!!!!!!!!!

A stellar debut, the next best thing to getting a new Storm CD. Book-ended with gems, the very Journey-like leadoff track 'My Love Will Be There' and the Jim Peterik-written, 'River of Destiny'. Between the bread, there's an awesome summertime feel-good track called 'Summer of Love' and the splendid ballad 'I Believe in You'. Sometimes Chalfant's voice is a bit grating and strained ('I Won't Give Up on Us') but all in all, a hard CD to flaw. Preferable to the second release 'Ignition'.

Two Fires is a record where the voice rules the day. The vocals have been moved up in the mix to the point where they are the defining element of the record. The music seems secondary, but of course, is flawlessly constructed with plenty of smooth guitar solos, great keyboard melodies and AOR anthems. Having the voice as the driving force of the record, one needs a quite inspirational performance to pull that off. Fortunately this is done with ease as Kevin is in wonderfully fine form.

Once again, this is not hardrock, but pure AOR ! And BRILLIANT AOR too (I'm already waitin' till the idiot that uses my name, will give his comments, very funny, coward !). Ramos and Chalfant prove that they belong among the best in the AOR genre ! Hope we see a lot more of 'em. Their second album was a bit weaker, we have to stay as objective as possible, but still fine AOR. But this one is simply STUNNING and indeed on par with The Storm !

Yeah, I don't rank this even close to the Storm releases. It's good AOR, but maybe a bit too much for me. A lot of very loving lyrics and just a little too much in the end. 'Alicia' is a cool song though (reminds me of Reckless by Precious Metal), but overall it's pretty standard AOR. No Storm as far as I'm concerned...

The song remember has a SURVIVOR vibe to it and this along with rivers of destiny are my favourite tracks.I rate this cd as one of the best AOR releases after THE STORM.13 tracks here and all songs are pleasant enough to listen to.This fact is quite rare on any cd.The songs have a strong feel good factor to them and are a great welcome to lift the spirits on a bad day.I hope that KEVIN CHALFANT does another cd like this again. This is a 10 rating and a top class cd.

fantastic album, this CD brings a lot remedy to me for I have long for Chalfant's vocal since Storm's era. A lot of strong ballads, pure mid-tempo beautiful songs, and Jim Peterik is here too. You gotta have this for God sake

AGREE WITH AOR FREAKY BRILLIANT AOR, A REALLY GEM, I OWN THE 2 CD'S, THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST RELEASE, EVERY SONG IS MAGIC, AOR HEAVEN,A MASTERPIECE, THE COMPARE WITH JOURNEY STYLE IS BIGGER, KEVIN CHALFANT SHOULD BE THE PERFECT SINGER FOR JOURNEY INSTEAD OF ARNEL PINEDA. THIS IS PERFECTION. LONG LIVE TWO FIRES AND AOR 2!

Great Melodic Rock/AOR CD indeed! but my only complaint here is the production: could've been better and low my rating 13 brilliant songs, should i name the 13 songs? don't think so but my super favorite songs are: "Never Stop Loving You" "River of Destiny" "I Believe in You"(what a Guitar solo Josh wow!) "Piece of my Heart" "When Love is Gone" "Surrender" & "Alyssia". Two Fires is full of Melodies, Ramos/Chalfant what a duo mates! without words, sadly the production is not so superb 88/100

Only having the likes of Kevin Chalfant and Jim Peterik(not to mention the others)in here is synonymous of quality guaranteed but in my case i expected more from this band/project...the songs somehow grabs you but they should have been more compact IMHO...so at the end, even though is a good release,is a simple AOR/Melodic Rock album...ok some goodies such as "I Won't Give Up On Us","Piece Of My Heart"(nice),"Surrender","Never Stop Loving You" & "I Can See" are songs that undoubtebly will give u some happiness but no more than that...for me the the really outstanding ones are "Summer Of Love","Alicia" & "River Of Destiny" and to resume the album in 3 tracks is like nothing...a matter of tastes i guess...my rate is still reasonable...84/100
