Their best effort IMHO...plenty of good songs and with a very enthusiastic Kevin Chalfant in each one ...the opening track "Is It Any Wonder" is by far the best cut of the record,"Lost In The Song"(catchy),"Burning Bright","Hold On To Your Dream","Answer To My Prayer","Relentless"(nice) & "All For One"(very bice) are my faves...recommended...90/100 |

Meh. More sub-par Journey wannabe material from Mr. Chalfant (although this guitarist soloist sounds more like Blackmore than Schon). Heavier on the guitar than Journey, which makes it more rock-y overall. Kevin is in fine voice, and not doing too much Steve Perry imitation as he's sometimes wont to do. If you're looking for some pleasant AOR with a little grittier feel, this is a good album. Typical selection of both up-tempo and ballad tunes, as you'd expect from this kind of thing. Not too bad, but nothing that'll take your head off -- especially the song quality, which is pretty run-of-the-mill. Very well produced, but that doesn't save it from mediocrity. Less discerning listeners might gobble this up, but I found it somewhat bland. 70 / 100 |
