From: Steve T Date: February 25, 2002 at 10:04
The Scorps best album in my opinion (tied with Lovedrive). Matthias and his solo's are nothing short of God-like. The guy is a genius.

From: iaffprofireman Date: March 13, 2003 at 2:26
A fabulous album, not one bad song. Came out in 80 and was one of the albums that probably set a new standard for hard rock. By far this one and Blackout are their two best.

From: The Fizzy One Date: September 14, 2003 at 14:41
Not quite as good as Blackout, but very nearly. A nice progression can be heard between Lovedrive, Magnetism and Blackout, although A.M. is closer in sound and consistency to the latter.

Otro pedazo d disco d estos genios germanos. por cierto, ¿Donde estan el resto d sus discos? como por ejemplo el directo:TOKYO TAPES DEL 78'

From: Metal Pete Date: January 8, 2004 at 18:56
Excellent album. Almost identically as good as Lovedrive. Buy them both at the same time if new to the Scorps! Fantastic music that has stood the test of time.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 29, 2004 at 18:16
This one is a little heavier than the last album, but just as consistent. Somewhat overlook in their catalog, and that is sad with all of the great songs on here ("The Zoo", "Make It Real", "Lady Starlight"). 9/10

From: jack Date: August 11, 2004 at 6:11
Classic scorpions stuff-the album that i'll listen to at least once a week.

From: Propane Date: December 1, 2004 at 16:03
Best of the best. Will not disappoint.

From: Swriter Date: April 11, 2005 at 8:08
probably my fav Scorps disk, great songs The Zoo, Promises, Lady Starlight, a classic

From: juan carlos Date: June 14, 2007 at 11:42
Un peldaño abajo que su "Lovedrive", "Make It Real" es mi favorita de siempre junto a "The Zoo", "Lady Starlight", "Promises" en ese orden. Gran disco. 8.5/10

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: November 5, 2009 at 23:58
This record is like their Powerage, their forgotten album, sandwiched between two much more popular records, that has that one big hit ("The Zoo," of course) and a slew of forgotten tracks. I hear them still hanging onto a little of their '70's sound but trying to be more hook-oriented, although those attempts aren't always successful. In fact, it's been a while since I've listened to it, and I'm having trouble remembering exactly how tunes like "Hold Me Tight" and '20th Century Man" go. The second half of the disc is better, ending with the thud of "The Zoo," and the super-slow, super-heavy title track.

In agreement with Doghouse Reilly's comment...an album that is a classic but somehow pretty forgotten nowadays(only "The Zoo" remains in the band's set list)...another great ones are the opener "Make It Real","Don't Make No Promises(Your Body Can't Keep)","Hold Me Tight","Lady Starlight"(a beautiful but underrated ballad that for me was the pre "Still Loving You" song)& "Falling In Love"...90/100

From: Lights Out Date: January 8, 2013 at 18:00
Animal Magnetism is the first album where Scorpions took an initiative to slick up their sound in addition to the songs becoming more anthem oriented. Less focus was put on the guitar leads in consideration of a more even band-oriented approach which is what Rudolf preferred, though Matthias still has some time on most tracks to play a formal, sometimes extended primary solo. In spite of the additional polish the songs still pack some punch with heavy rockers such as "Make It Real", "Falling In Love", "Only A Man", and "Twentieth Century Man". The ballad "Lady Starlight" is one of their weaker ones but still passable. "Hold Me Tight" is a heavy, plodding rocker that I've always liked and of course most people are familiar with "The Zoo", which is probably the most unique song on offer rhythmically speaking. This album did not generate many big hits for the band but is still pretty solid front-to-back. "Hey You" is a good addition for certain versions of this album. 77/100
