Another excellent album. They show their versatility with the motown-ish "Dancing In The Moonlight" while still turning out great hard rock as "Bad Reputation" and "Opium Trail". 9/10 |

Agreed! The musicianship was inserted into this one, one fine thread at a time. |
From: Scott | Date: December 15, 2004 at 8:43 |
Guitarist Scott Gorham handled all guitar duties on this one and did so in a fine manner as "Bad Reputation" is another brilliant, 100% filler-free Thin Lizzy album. Every song possessing it's own emotion and splendor. Of course, much of this is helped by Phil Lynott's soulful vocals and poetic lyrics. Favorites are the title track, "Dancing in the Moonlight," "Opium Trail," the underrated "Dear Lord"...oh heck, the whole disc is good. Fourth brillian disc in a row! |

Utterly essential Lizzy album. Opium Trail and Southbound are two of my all time fav tracks by this classic band! |

Robertson was notably absent on most of this session though he was still a member of the band. Gorham does fullfill most guitar duties on the album quite well. Again, Lizzy delivers a solid effort of rockers & ballads. This album still gets played. Recommended Listening. |

Classic album, the musicianship throughout is sublime. The songs, with their pounding rhythms and soulful, emotive vocals have a life of their own. Lynott's voice, as always, is a pleasure to hear. Essential listening. |

A versatile classic Thin Lizzy album with Phil Lynott's melodic vocal style, great lyrics and stable bass playing. Scott Gorham recorded most of the guitars and he really gets to shine here with one of the best drummers ever, Mr. Brian Downey. |
