This CD is excellent. I'm sure you can find it for a dollar or two covered in dust and shit... Seems nobody ever heard of this band, but they're great. Poppy melodic hard rock at it's best!

From: SIXXSWINE Date: April 18, 2001 at 14:22
They remind me of the band playing in the background of a B-Movie. You know the hero rolls into town, walks into the club or bar & you know something is gonna happen? These guys are just as memorable as that band. 1.5 out of sympathy.

From: Van Alan Date: November 24, 2001 at 23:46
Combat/Relativity records are best known for thrash and death metal. But towards the end of the decade the label started signing a few mainstream hard rock/metal acts. Jet Red was one of them, a typical band with a sound similar to Winger, Firehouse or Trixter. They are not as good as the first two (Winger & Firehouse) but better than the third (Trixter). Their self-titled CD displays AOR hard rock with a good amount of synthesizer use. 'Let It Roll' is the heaviest song on the CD with the major

From: TIM Date: May 1, 2002 at 22:27
I agree with both SIXXSWINE and Van Alan.

From: Gar Date: August 10, 2002 at 2:57
I thought I was the only person who owned this album. They do remind me a lot of Firehouse. Nothing special, but not that bad either. "Take Me Tonight" is the best song on the album.

From: nitrodoll1974 Date: August 10, 2002 at 5:36
best song is 'look in your eyes'...decent album what is anybody doing these days? nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: 80sfan Date: August 28, 2002 at 21:58
This was a great cd when it came out. Check out Look in Your Eyes. Great power ballad.

From: Richard H. Date: October 31, 2002 at 21:51
sixxswine was pretty much on the right track with this one, this could actually be one of those b-movie soundtracks.I'm not too sure about the comparisons to Firehouse & Winger.Willie Hines has a Dave King(fastway & katmandu) and Jack Blades sort of approach to the songs and the music sounds like everything else out there around '86-'89.High points are " Look In Your Eyes" & "Not The Only One" which a decent aor tracks.

From: ARXONTAS Date: February 1, 2003 at 9:05
Excellent piece of the Hard Rock genre with strong A.O.R influences.Groups like this one disappeared and now the no1 band in States are Marilyn Manson. Congratulation's Gentleman! If this sounds like a b-movie background music then i'm Alexander The Great...Absolutely No Alternative...

From: Trick Taylor Date: June 24, 2003 at 9:22
This was done in 1989 so the Firehouse references are premature. I would say it comes closer to boring Night Ranger, Only Child with higher vocals, or even pre-dated yet bad DARE. Actually "Lonely" and "Outside" show these guys can write an excellent power pop song, and they could have been even better with 6 more months on stage and a real producer. A few gems make it worth keeping, but mostly filled with toothless, keyboard layden, confused post "Slippery..." pop crap.

From: RattnRoll Date: September 4, 2003 at 10:03
This is an unknown treasure. Sure it's not all that original, sure we've heard it all before. Of course it's sweeter than a candy store. But it's exaclty what we want!! The best songs are Lolita, Parlez vous francais (gotta love anglicans speaking french) and Look in your eyes. I'd give it a solid 8. When you love your early Winger or Ratt this is what you'd like.

From: cruise Date: September 14, 2003 at 15:38
This is a great release that never made it. Excellent songs and real rock n' roll attitude but still very accessible. They probably sounded too similar to alot of other bands at the time to have made it on a small label. 8/10

From: Mercutio62 Date: December 1, 2003 at 0:49
What this album displayed was the emerging talent of Willie Hines as a considerable songwriting talent, the kind of guy that can write hooks that won't let go. The production, sadly, was terrible, otherwise they might have done better (although I heard they did well in Japan). "I bet you're thinking that you're pretty cool/Like Bobby Darrin singing Mack the Knife" has to be the best simile ever in a rock song. A web search showed Willie is still writing and playing in CA. This band was together and played locally from the early 80's until 1993 about 10-12yrs.,they were and still are a great band, whose best work was probably never heard by most people. They were alot heavier and bluesier than this album, and blessed with one of the best guitarists I've ever heard, and Willie is a pretty damn good guitarist himself. They are all still playing locally in different bands.Willie and Johnny appear on the new Enuff Znuff tribute CD. They are also my dear friends )Peace

From: Bodthy Date: January 18, 2004 at 15:22
Cool stuff that didn't go as far as it should have due in part to record label politics (or is it stupidity?) and who knows what else.

From: MIKE S Date: March 24, 2004 at 17:54
Saw this at a used record store and looked like it would be worth checking out. Purchased it and returned it the next day! Much too lightweight for my taste. I'm with SIXXSWINE on this one. Weak pop rock at best.

From: FRATELLO Date: May 7, 2004 at 7:07
This album has its moments but suffer from total lack of originality. But fans of the style enjoy it 100%

From: Juan Date: May 15, 2004 at 16:38
The fact they recorded this in 17 days and the year was 1989, not a bad release. Not for hardcore critics with depth like "SIXXSWINE", but alot of fun for average joes like myself. Would like to see where they might have gone.

From: Gus Date: May 16, 2004 at 23:15
I heard this band in concert in '89 opening for Y&T. They rocked so much harder than this cd. Should be re-released with more guitar and less keyboards. Fun cd though.

From: Jack Date: May 17, 2004 at 17:07
I recognize the last name of the drummer. He's Denny Carmassi's little brother. Billy played for Aldo Nova and Sammy Hagar. Great 80's music. What ever happened to great guitar solos like these? Outside is the best track.

From: David Date: October 28, 2004 at 17:53
Does anyone know when the 2nd album comes out?? It must be soon!!

From: Federico Date: December 15, 2004 at 14:50
This a good melodic rock album. I like the way they use the keyboards(Van Halen) I have bought this vinyl today for 2,5 euro, a very nice price. Lolita and look in your eyes are very funny songs. 1988 was a great year for hard rock.

From: Geoff Date: February 10, 2005 at 3:55
This album is filled with filler, but amongst them fillers are some gems like 'Lonely', 'Look in your eyes' and 'Take me tonight'. This is one of those albums where the quality of the good tracks easily outweighs the poor fillers. No doubt about it, the second album eclipses this with the greatest of ease.

From: Metalhead66 Date: February 11, 2005 at 9:09
Bought this and shouldn't have!!This is what makes Hard rock a joke to some people...It sucks..very limp wristed...no character...AVOID!!

From: wikkid76 Date: January 7, 2006 at 21:39
I'm the guy (Wille) who wrote the first comment on this CD in 2001, I still have to say this album funk rocks! I just listened to it while passing out, and I've never passed out happier!!!

From: wikkid76 Date: January 7, 2006 at 21:42
Yeah - I didn't mean FUNK rocks, I meant FUCKING rocks... thats what happens when trying to type while drunk...

From: aMetalhead1966 Date: January 17, 2006 at 15:30
I wrote earlier in this thread that this sucks, well I have listened to it again,I repent, this isn't bad at all.Not the best, but not bad.

From: ROBERT Date: February 3, 2006 at 20:21
¿A Alguien le suena el disco: FIGHT PLAN d este grupo o d oto q se yama igual?

From: luis aormaniac Date: April 14, 2006 at 18:16
I own this cd..my fav's ones are Take Me Tonight,Look In Your Eyes,Not The Only One..good melodic hard rock.. Para Robert: "Fight Plan" vendría a ser el "Jet Red II" anunciado hace tiempo..temas indispensables..Lot's Of days (el mejor tema del álbum),See The Light,I Surrender..es muy raro encontrarlo...

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 19, 2006 at 11:12

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 19, 2006 at 11:32
Now about this album is a Good stuff of Hard Rock, la verdad el album esta partido en 2 estilos desde la onda Hard Rock/Glam tipo Poison y por supuesto dando lo mejor en el Hard Rock Melodico(con sus toques de AOR que tienen esos temas) alli radica el porque es un buen album y son 4 temas que alzan el album ellos son Let It Roll, Look In Your Eyes, Not The Only One, Take Me Tonight 4 JOYAS si con mayusculas en ellos esta el porque este disco es una pieza de coleccion 8/10.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 19, 2006 at 11:38

From: Blue Tequila Date: April 20, 2006 at 9:52
I had high hopes for this, and after listening to it a few times now I gotta say it's pretty bland and watered down with lots of filler and not many standout tracks. To me they sound like a mix of Danger Danger and Bonham. There are a few good songs like "Look In Your Eyes", "Not The Only One" and "Let It Roll" but the rest of the album is pretty forgettable.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 22, 2006 at 12:21
Hey Luis como que diste en el clavo con Lot's Of days sin lugar a dudas el mejor del album y eso que es la mas larga del disco, poca atencion le tome a ese album pero Lot's Of Days es Magistral saludos.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: September 17, 2007 at 14:25
GOOD CD 82/100 IF YOU LIKE THE MUSIC OF THE LATE 80'S YOU'LL DIG IT FOR SURE ! GREAT SINGER & EVEN GREATER GUITAR PLAYER SOME SONGS ARE ON TYPICAL US HAIR METAL STYLE others are more on the AOR side / and oui , je parle trés bien français !

From: StarChildBlade Date: December 7, 2009 at 15:05
Classic album. Very Baby's/Piper influenced in parts, and Van Halen/Bon Jovi in other parts. The singer Willie Hines is a musicologist, owns a record store in Stockton, CA (Replay Records; I used to work there), and has a knack for writing the perfect pop melody. Believe it or not, he is a huge jazz fan, loves Prince, and hates Kiss!
