The AOR/MR world is definitely being spoilt for Terry Brock related releases this year - the latest Giant disc (very good it is too), a forthcoming new Strangeways album in October (can't wait for that one) and this new solo album aswell. Accompanied by Mike Slamer throughout, 'Diamond Days' is choc to the brim with quality songs, with 'Jessie's Gone (co-written with Strangeways Ian Stewart), the title track, 'Face In The Crowd', 'Soldier Calls' & 'Too Young' being some of the songs that really jump out at you initially. 'Diamond Days' is generally a great mix of uptempo stuff and some great ballads and I can honestly say there isn't anywhere near a bad song on here. Time will tell if this is better than than Slamer's 'Nowhere Land' disc, but on first few spins it definitely runs it close.

Awesome!!!!.strong,solid,melodic,catchy...the 'maestro' is back with another solo release (his second one actually) after the album he did with Giant (awesome too )...is he going to continue as the lead vocalist there???..anyway,is very nice to have him recording his solo stuff because here is where he really shows us his quality as a musician...'Diamond Blue' loved it!!!,great song with a wonderful chorus and a little touch of modern rock(i'm not very keen on it but Brock does it in such a pleasant way that u forget this issue of modern sound),'Jessie's Gone' is a highlight,'No More Mr Nice Guy' rocks and also has powerful backing vocals,'The Rain' is a nice ballad,'Face In The Crowd' is excellent,'Too Young' is another very good rocky song that easily is a highlight too,'Soldier Falls' is a strong beautiful ballad and to end the album another ballad (this one acoustically)'Face The Night'..highly recommended album and waitin' 4 that supposedly Strangeways reunion...95/100

Great album by Terry Brock. Why & Soldier Falls are my favorites, but there many good songs in here. A very pleasant CD. 7.5/10

A little disappointment. I adore Strangeways & Slamer`s Promised Land, but here`s nothing extraordinary. Some good songs & some mediocre. Too trivial! 6,5/10

From: masmusic Date: September 5, 2010 at 13:44
Very enjoyable release! Only one track I don't care for and that is No More Mister Nice Guy! I find the guitar too grunchy sounding, Also the song sticks out like a sore thumb as it does not flow with the rest of the CD. Other than that the sound is great and songs like Jessie's Gone & Broken are great songs 9/10

From: tomdwa Date: September 18, 2010 at 15:19
Awesome, this is the best cd of the year, and maybe of many past years. Everything fits here, great arrangement in the songs, Mike Slamer at his very best, Terry Brock proving he's one of the best voices in the business, and a flawless and powerful production. Buy, buy, buy !!!

Great AOR album!

From: z4roxx Date: November 21, 2010 at 10:25
That's a Slamer/Denander album with a great voice IMO.Not great as the debut but a must,too.

From: DonDefo Date: January 2, 2011 at 14:46
Great album! Title song is the best of course because you like for the first time you hear it, it's something rarely seen in any music I think. It's AOR but very concrete and powerful one. Great rockers and ballads too. Terry doesn't lose his talent at all on this cd!

From: Pee Dee Date: January 9, 2011 at 19:08
Just heard this. Bloody Awesome. This is truly classic AOR with quality musicianship. Is it 'Walk in the Fire?' Not quite - but darn close! Tracks the likes of 'It's You' and 'Broken' are slices of the melodies of yesterday (When crotchets, quavers and minims were still a factor in the days before(C)RAP). It's such a shame that the long-awaited Brock-Strangeways reunion turned out to be so dull and tuneless. But as for this one - simply amazing. (93/100)

this was a big surprise!fantastic hard rock release by TERRY BROCK with the valuable help of the talented MIKE SLAMER.very good production, catchy songs, clever melodies and great guitar work make DIAMOND BLUE one of the best of 2010 for sure!"jessie s gone","diamond blue" ,"broken" and "it s you" are great indeed!a must have for me

From: Reverend Mayhem Date: November 23, 2012 at 13:23
Fantastic overall disc by Terry, with no small input from guitar whiz Mike Slamer (who is something of the unsung star of the album). Glistening production throughout. Terry is in great voice, and the songs very tuneful. My only complaint is the lyrics, which could really use some help -- pretty trite, on the whole. I'm not asking for meaningful poetic ponderings on the nature of the universe, but geez -- something more sophisticated than what can be heard from a sixteen-year-old schoolboy would be an improvement. As usual, Slamer sounds fantastic. Standout song for me is "Face In The Crowd," with "Broken" coming in a close second. Overall: 90 / 100

From: 123charpenay Date: October 19, 2021 at 8:51
this record is a good mix between seventh key and steelhouse lane.the sound of the guitars (mike slamer)is exactly the same.the choruses of "it s you" and ""jessie s gone" are fantastic.
