Quite possibly the best Krokus LP overall. Production is good, and the music is very memorable and enjoyable. I saw them on tour in '84 while this album was on the charts. They were they opening act for Sammy Hagar and it was one hell of a show. Great rockin' band!

Right On! Von Arb was such a way cool axe man. Krokus ranks up there with the best rock acts of the 1980s with no question. "Our Love" was such a hot tune from this one.

You know, it's really hard to believe......... I was looking at the inside sleeve of this album and you know what? Check this out!...... This album was produced by Bruce Fairbairn (AC/DC, Poison, ect.) It was engineered by Bob Rock (Metallica, The Cult, ect.) And assistant engineer was Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Poison, Thunder, ect.) DO YOU KNOW how much money that would cost a band today$$$$$$$? Those are some big name guys in the music world today!!

THIS HAD A MORE COMERCIAL SOUND, BUT CONTAINS SOME OF THEIR CLASSICS (BALLROOM BLITZ, MIDNITE MANIAC) AND SOME OTHER SONGS THAT SOUND COOL! 1984 HAD SOME OF THE BEST SONGS I'VE HEARD...AND GUESS WHAT, IT WAS THE YEAR I WAS BORN!!! ARRGHHH I MISSED IT...OH WELL. I HOPE THE TIME TRAVEL MACHINE WOULD BE INVENTED. HAHA...

Its very very good!

A good album. I like it, but they began to stray a little bit from their heavy metal roots. Still a fine album, no complaints about the band. A little more 'anthemic' if you will on this release. This was the last one for Mark Kohler, who apparently was a major influence...

From: jack Date: August 17, 2004 at 4:50
This is my favourite krokus album. The best track are midnight maniac and cover version of sweet' sballroom blitz though this one is much heavier and better than the original.

From: Big Papa K Date: August 19, 2004 at 15:08
This is the big turning point in the band's history as they adopt a more pop metal sound. It works great on tracks such as "Midnight Maniac" and "Our Love", but is a disaster on others such as their terrible cover of "Ballroom Blitz". 6/10

From: Rene Date: October 24, 2004 at 11:50
ROCK THE NATION is one of KROKUS best song ever. Just increible what a great song. Try to listen to that song and you will buy this album, believe me and listen to me for ones in your life.

From: onemorecast Date: November 11, 2004 at 22:49
our love and midnite maniac are classics.

From: ED Date: December 18, 2004 at 14:47
I have this one with HEADHUNTER on cd. I play HEADHUNTER more than I do with this one. But I still like this one. Their heaviest stuffs were better...But THE BLITZ has good songs.

Its funny how you can read the comments up above about this cd. But the true matter is that most rockers or fans don't like when there Fav. bands get some real decent exposures of there music. And for me as a krokus fan they had lots of fillers on there cd's up to this cd which you find there is not much fillers this is just a cd you can play for a party and there is something for everyone that loves to rock. If this cd came out today and no one knew of krokus They love this cd.9/10

From: Metal T Date: May 5, 2008 at 19:05
Someone mentioned in an earlier post under one of the "Krokus" threads that when "Krokus" did a cover they made it their own.Couldn't agree more with that take and "Ballroom Blitz" was no exception."Out To Lunch","Rock The Nation","Out Of Control" etc...all great stuff.

Poor!

From: hair metal again Date: June 14, 2013 at 0:47
with this one KROKUS tried to do a commercial success ,but unfortunately they didnt!big company ,great producer(Bruce Fairbairn),co-writers(Jim Vallance-bryan Adams),guest 2nd vocs(Jimi Jamison), BUT there werent any big choruses and songs that could push things further!dont get me wrong this is a fine hard rock release with powerful sound, great guitars and some good songs that will satisfy every KROKUS fan!

Possibly a tie between this and their previous album for their best release? This has great tracks like Midnite Maniac. Yet another cover is given the Krokus magic touch. This time it is a Sweet track. I don't really know why they do so many cover songs but they are certainly skilled at it. I know they cop some criticism for sounding a bit like ACDC. But so do about 50% of Hard Rock bands. Who cares? It's the style of music. Rated B.
