Considered by a lot of people as a classic. I have to disagree. This is good AOR, but nothing special. AOR by numbers. But certainly worth selling if you like AOR.

Sounds dated now. The songs just aren't that strong. A couple of catchy tunes, but....

AOR rules. And this Album as well. Me and Michelle is one of my all time favorites.

Which album of theirs has 'This is Japan' on it? What a killer track

Nice use of textures with sedate verses and heavier anthem chorus. 'Don't Turn Your Back' is an instant uptempo classic in the time honored mid 80's AOR tradition - genuine momentum supporting a memorable hook and killer chorus, not to mention those insistent pomp keys! It should have been the opening track. 'Top Of The Bay' operates in more sedate territory, revealing the abundant class and songwriting of this fine band.

Though not perfect from start to finish, this is definitely a classy album with some memorable tracks: "Rescue Me", "Don't Turn Your Back", "Top Of The Bay", "A Woman Like You", not forgetting the superb anthem chorus of "Me And Michelle" (obligatory listening for AOR lovers). It's a shame that the remaining songs aren't so good. However, an underappreciated release. Le Roux fans should give it a try [89%]

Not much memorable here, had this one on cassette and would not pay more than a dollar to replace it on CD.

Great reviews when it came out drove me to buy it. Can't figure out what the fuss was about. Bit dull...very dull then! No longer in my collection.

Average, la verdad este disco me decepciono yo habia leido muchas buenas criticas de esta banda y de este disco en muchos lares, hay muchos discos que merecen mas atencion y con menos puntos.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 5, 2011 at 20:56
Ummm...well average probably but acceptable i think...let's say that this band or album is neither hot nor cold...just acceptable at the end with somehow that typical AOR poppy sound(without being Hi Tech AOR)...my fave tracks are "She's So Hot"(the best cut of the album IMO),"Don't Turn Your Back","Me And Michelle" plus the couple of nice ones "Rescue Me" & "Top Of The Bay"...85/100

Really impressed with this southern-tinged AOR. The vocalist is excellent and really adds his own unique voice to the songs. If I had to compare him to someone it would be Gregg Allman. The addition of a fair few keyboards to the mix adds to the feel too. My picks from this one are: Rescue Me (nice mellow rocker), Top of the Day (smooth melodic keyboard intro leading to another mellow rocker with smooth vocals), Little Lady (very decent hard rocker with a "trucker" vibe and very catchy vocals and a meaty solo), A Woman Like You (melodic keyboards and guitars throughout), Work It Out (another deent hard rocker) and Me And Michelle (another rocker with a "trucker" vibe in it). What this album intends to do, it does very well but it's certainly not for AOR purists - more for Southern-AOR fans I'd say.

Duke Jupiter actually had somewhere in the region of 5 other albums dating back to 1978, before this one, with their final 3 albums more for the Aor fanatics out there.
