a much more pop orientated album compared to the two later ones( man with a mission, running the endless mile),but there are some good tunes here too." ball and chain, secrets and we all make mistakes" |

To be honest, I was quite disappointed with this. After the magnificent Man With A Vision album I was expecting a killer but this is just pop and is only on this site because his other albums are rock. The only songs worth having a listen to are Bad Blood and Four Letter Word but really this isn't rock. |

I partially agree with 2 of the comments above (rocky & edwithmj)obviously this album lacks of extremely great songs like the ones you can find in Parr's previous releases but still offers some good pop rock songs here and there...still the man can compose interesting tracks such as the opener "Bad Blood" which is a smooth & one,"Ball & Chain" is excellent,"Making Love To Your Answer Machine" is a highlight and is one of the most original song title ever! ,"We All Make Mistakes" is a beauty one along with "Time","4 Letter Word" has a catchy rhythm & "The River Runs Deep" is a decent ending song...pleasant album to have 4 sure...actually the 4 albums of John Parr listed here at HH are worth having them...90/100 |

This has actually grown on me over the years and I now agree with Rick above. It's sort of like a modern AOR album with quite a few memorable moments. Time, Secrets, Ball And Chain, Bad Blood and Four Letter Word are great tracks and the rest is decent AOR too with Forgiveness being a nice sentimental instrumental piece. I wish I could delete my old comment but what's done is done. |

Do not worry edwithmj ...these things happen...sometimes we have to give a record some spins before having a real concept about it or we simply stick to our first opinions...cheers mate |
