The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Skin CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.
EPs and CD-singles from Skin are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

The elements comprising Skin would seem to set them up for superstar status (tight rhythm section, competent guitar work, and of course Neville MacDonald's great Hagar-like vocal quality), yet they've always fallen short for one reason throughout their career: disappointing song quality. This final last gasp effort is no exception. Much like their self-titled debut, the material is all the product of a derivative formula delivering sub-par results. Too bad, as Nev's always deserved a better outlet for his amazing vocals. Like that first disc, here there are a few stand-out tunes (like the single, "Stronger" with its strong country-western feel behind the bluesy riffing), but otherwise the yawners come far too often. And any appealing energy they had leftover from the days of their debut is long gone. Sad, considering the potential this band has always displayed. Don't give up, Nev -- there are plenty of quality song crafters out there who'd love to have you along for the ride. 68 / 100 |
