Everytime Cheap Trick has put out a cd since 'Woke Up With A Monster' in 1994 the press says its they're best in years and the band has gone back to their roots. It seems when Cheap Trick works with outside writers the songs are better like "Perfect Stranger" which was written with Linda Perry. The rest of the songs are good but nowhere near the consistancy of they're classic efforts. Whats missing here is the ballads where Zander seems to shine the best imo. Decent effort but no comeback! |

Welcome back boys - this is a DISC that is true to what was and is Cheap Trick. Great production, great songs and catchy chorus'. Forget about the last couple of releases and relive what was 'Lap....' and 'Busted'.....not as good but damn close. |

I was one of the few it seems that thought the previous album 'Special One' was a really good release. I still stand by my comments on that one & still really enjoy it, although I am now going to have to repeat what I said about that one & say that this 'ere 'Rockford' disc is DEFINATELY the best album they have done in 20 years or more. The whole sound of the album really does take you back to the 'classic' sound of the first 4 albums, which is how I got into them in the first place. |

Robin Zander still possesses one hell of a voice & all the other magical CT sounds from Tom Petesson's 12 string bass, to Rick Nielsen's 'Zany' guitar playing are all present, correct & unmistakable. What makes this album stand out from the last few releases though is the consistency of material, which has had a trendency to dip in places on recent releases. No such problem here, as this is a superb 40 odd minutes of perfect power pop from the masters of the genre. Superb |

Flip! Well I think Jez sez it all here. This is gonna be top 10 this year for me no prob, probably even top 5..though there's a good few months left yet. Dunno what to add!! Top release from a fierce band! 9.5/10 |

Well here we have the typical CT sound of perhaps albums such as Next Position Please and One On one..they definetely have stuck to their most defining sound and did not attempt to experiment with AOR or anything like it that they have recorded in the past (by the way very good).Short songs with that Rock'n'Roll attitude with Zander singing like having a brand new throat,Nielsen playing his dearing guitar like a thunder and not forgetting the splendid rhythm section of Carlos and Petersson respectively.Songs 2,3,7,8 and 11 are very good ones...85/100 |

Been awhile since I last listened to this, so I put it on today. Not bad, not great. Tracks 3, 9 and 10 are my faves. |
