Very raw, heavier than everything they did before. Alfonzetti doesnīt sound too different from ex-singer, but make a great job as always. More like Skintrade than Jagged Edge or Alfonzetti. Stranded, Wall Of Illusion and Wake Up are the highlights, but the whole album works well. Early Damned Nation fans will find a lot to enjoy here, but Sign Of Madness isnīt so polished as the preview (good)records. |

As a huge Damned Nation fan, blown away by the last couple of CDs, I was a little disappointed here to hear them abandon the more melodic tracks. But a band of this quality I would not give up on and I've played it a lot since I bought it and have decided it's excellent. Very heavy, and a very good sound. 'Still alive' is just a stunning track and 'Sign of mdness', 'Facing the enemy', 'Slave' and basically all are great. Too much of the same subject matter, but a great melodic heavy rock CD. |

A change in sound, yes, but not in quality. A raw, heavy, modern sound permeates this CD, but the songwriting and playing are still intact. The production is clear and crisp. Matti Alfonzetti is more aggressive with his vocals than ever before. "Wall Of Illusion" and "Stranded" are the most accessible tracks but this does not mean they are back to the metal-lite of past CD's. This will take some digesting much like the new Europe. And it will meet with some resistance. However it is quite good. |

The bad: Too much down-tuning of the guitars, Creed like slow to mid-tempo changes for chorus on a couple of songs, mega-phone vocals on "Wake Up" are terrible. Production sounds to raw. Just sounds like they're trying to hard to be a certain style instead of just letting loose and rocking. The good: Guitars,(as usual),are out front & loud, some good riffing. I big step down from "Road of Desire" release. :O( Way to loose your identity guys... |

Ouch. What a major let down. I loved Road of Desire and Grand Design (not so big on Just What the Doctor Ordered) so this was a big disappointment. I enjoy the new singer, but if I want guitar riffs that bruise my ear drums and are tuned down to the depths of hell, I'll listen to Zakk Wylde and BLS. |

"Road of Desire" was rather boring compared to this one but I can see where the AOR lovers would not care for this one as it is a little too heavy for them. But for those of us who love their hard rock with the guitars up in the mix, this one is just great!! |

Ahahah this is horrible!!!What a shitty guitars sound, too modern also for MTV ahahaha!!I don t know one of the best voice of all time like M.Alfonzetti can be sing in that cd. |

This band kicks ass, this album is the best I've heard although I haven't hesrd Grand Design yet. This album seems a bit harder edged and rocking then Road Of Desire.Sweden has a excellent melodic rock scene with bands like Baltimoore,Great King Rat,Electric Boys, etc.DN also reminde my of swiss rockers Shakra.M.Alfonzetti stepped right in and they didn't miss a beat.Good Sh**. |

Just revisiting this album and it is a change in initial sound but not in overall songwriting & playing quality. There were big riffs on previous records don't forget, and if you ever saw them live, then you'd know they were very capable of playing like this. God, I loved this band, a shame it's gone all quiet. |

/Yep! this album has a Raw/Heavy/Modern sound, i like this album, itīs kay but i prefer their previous albums. The production is too much raw, it bothers me at times. 7.8/10 |
