| The third effort from Holy Soldier in my opinion falls flat in comparison to the first 2. Stephen Patrick is no longer in the band and that was the staple of the H.S. sound. Imagine Stryper without Michael Sweet and you have "Promise Man". Competent, yes, but not up to par.

| No doubt that a big Buget must have been spent in the soundroom. Promise Man Never had the Bite as the First Album. Some interesting ideas for encyclopedia of sounds though. Christian Metal around the board started tapering off from here, all around the board. Christian Metal Lost its Ground through the Mid 90's to Late 90's. Albums where all members put out and stretched their potential soto say got lost.Albums were made in mainstream instead of showing talent "Hot Doggin" if you will.Too bad!

| This site is for commenting on CDs, not for telling your opinion about religious groups. I'm sure that there's nobody here interested in your opinion anyway. Being a Christian myself, I think you are a very sad person. If you really have to say things like that, at least put some arguments with it, if you can think of a true good one... God Bless ya!

| This CD just swung and missed. The other 2 are just awesome but this is a mess musically. Try again boys and bring Steven Patrick back to the fold.

| Good cd but I miss Steven Patricks voice. Holy Soldier will go down in my own personal history book as a group that was capable of so much but stuck around to accomplish so little. If they were still together they'd still be putting out great records.

| If the phrase "holy crap" actually meant "crap that is Christian in nature," then it would be the perfect term to describe this CD, because it's Christian and it's crap. The band burst onto the white-metal scene with all guns blazing on their first two albums, but apparently those guns ran dry during the recording of this release, resulting in a sludgy alternative mess that bears little resemblance to their original sound & style. As a vocalist, newcomer Eric Wayne doesn't deserve to hold Steven Patrick's jockstrap, let alone act as his replacement. Man, this is bad...have I made that clear enough yet?

| Ok my friends this is another story,forget about the glammy-hard rocking-Stryper alike type of band that gave us a wonderful debut album and even gave us a second good shot with their second release but this one...1995 the year..grunge...Nirvana...Pearl Jam...and so on...many bands wanted or did a drastic change in attitude and music,some of then because different musicians made this happened in their respective bands and others probably because they wanted to be active through the years and they have to "evolutionate" with the changes 2 please some but to dismotivate others...Promise Man caused that effect in many listeners(including myself)..for me this sounds like an early version of Black Label Society but grungier,Eric sings at time like the same Zakk Wylde..."Promise Man" has that beat a lot,"Munbo Jumbo" is a cool lay back track,"My World" is acceptable,"Why Don't You Look Into Jesus" with a good lyric,"Break It Down" is ok,"Cover Me" this is probably the worst track in they...

| (continue)..have ever recorded in their entire career!.."Grind" is probably the best song in here...anyway as i always said and as musician myself,bands have to evolutionate whether in a good or bad way,Holy Soldier did it the wrong way but as men of God they could mend this..do not know about their after this material but hope is not as dull and obscure( i said this in the sense of the music,not their beliefs)as this release...70/100

| Unfortunately with the new singer and completely new sound, this did sound like a completely new band. I don't mind it (I don't love it like I do the first 2 albums) but I wish they had re-named themselves and not continued with the Holy Soldier tag. It really is a different band, and they did let down their core fans.

| 3rd step for HOLY SOLDIER and as some bands did back in the day they completely changed theirsound,attitude and vibe !Promise Man can easily called a grunge release and actually it reminds me a lot to the 2nd WILDSIDE release!overall is a pretty good one with many ok songs and well performed ,but on the other side its not the same band!
