Does a great job of delivering a late 80s-style melodic hard rock sound that should strongly appeal to fans of Black N Blue, Blonz, Dokken, and bands of that nature. Loud guitars, big hooks, powerful choruses, and gang backing vocals are what these boys are all about...

PAUL SHORTINO'S VOICE IS THE TRADEMARK OF THIS ALBUM. THE GUY SINGS WITH PASSION. GREAT ALBUM. IF YOU LIKE DOKKEN STYLE THE THIS IS FOR YOU . RECOMMENDED .

From: NORTUM Date: March 7, 2004 at 14:40
Shortino demuestra todo su talento en este disco (parecido al Qr de Quiet Riot), super ochentero!, basta con escuchar "I Don't want to Hear Your Heart Break".

From: 80sMetal1 Date: March 16, 2004 at 14:41
Man, this one's harder to find than an IQ of over 100 at a Nirvana concert!! But this one definitely rocks, and I think is much better than Paul Shortino's previous band, Rough Cutt. Leave It To The Law and No Time For Cryin are both heavy and rockin, and You're Mine Tonight has some great harmonies. Definitely worth the search.

Anyone have this one for sale? I'd pay a decent amount for it. If you are interested let me know. It has to be a decent copy and not a CD-R, an actual copy of the disk... Thanks.

From: Geoff Date: March 9, 2005 at 23:28
Wow!!! I'd love to hear this one. Are the last 4 tracks as good as the first 4 (Well, 'No time for cryin' is okay, but the other 3 are sensational!). I have the first 4 gems on my Mitch Perry disc, but would love the other 4. Do they shine as bright?

From: KingOfMetal Date: April 14, 2005 at 10:22
This album is worth every bit of the prices it fetches on eBay. "Leave It To The Law" and "Straight To My Heart" are among my favorites off of this disc. Any fans of Paul Shortino or Rough Cutt will truly appreciate this album, and any fans of the genre as well!

From: motley Date: June 20, 2005 at 16:20
Does anyone know if James Kottak is playing (uncredited) drums on this album? James has a picture of this album in the discographysection in his official webpage. www.jameskottak.com

I just picked up this cd after years of trying to hunt it down. OMG what an incredible disc! Paul is simply brilliant, his passion and phrasing are perfection. The musicianship is second to none, Perry, McNaBB, etc... I would highly recommend MSG`s Save Yourself Cd to fans of this cd...Mitch Perry is also on that album.

Always good to hear Shortino, and he sounds particularly good on this. A little more blues-oriented than Rough Cutt IMHO, but his voice is tailor made for that style. Good solid commercial hard rock, not ground-breaking or trend-setting, but a nice addition to any collection.

From: Metalmusicman Date: January 1, 2007 at 19:41
Now this was very refreshing!!! Great to hear Paul Shortino on the mike again and he sounds just incredible. I love the rasp in his voice. I always loved Rough Cutt and this is no different, as it is essentially the same thing in term of overall musical style and delivery. "Leave It To The Law", "I Don't Want To Hear Your Heart Break", "This Must Be Love" would have been right at home on either of the Rough Cutt albums. Killer melodic rock. Very recomend!!!

From: spectrefate Date: December 15, 2008 at 15:10
This album starts out strong but loses momentum at about track 5. But I highly recommend it for Shortino fans.

From: 20gunsalute Date: September 26, 2009 at 0:32
I'm sorry but I found this pretty tame. I always thought Rough Cutt was a little melodic for my tastes, but I gave this a shot. On the plus side this does rock a little better than Rough Cutt, but it's just a little too polished and slick.

From: edwithmj Date: January 5, 2011 at 9:39
This album is criminally short. Shortino's voice is as goodas ever and the slick production makes this one of his best. It's a pity this wasn't released in the 80s hey-day of metal because they would've been encouraged to record a follow-up. I Don't Want To Hear Your Heart Break is my favourite track.

From: andi Date: August 29, 2012 at 19:11
This is one of the best Hardrock Albums i´ve ever heard!!Great Guitars, great voice, great choir!!!!

From: JONBONPIGO Date: October 8, 2012 at 17:44
This sounds like an album constructed B4 the late 80's "HAIR METAL EXPLOSION"...not an early 90's effort...I woulda' guessed like 84-86...Not a complaint, just an observation... Very Good Vocals....NO KIDDING!!!! "Leave it to the Law" and "Straight to my Heart" r the standouts...Something every Metal Fan should give a listen to...

From: Diamonddave777 Date: May 8, 2021 at 16:31
Excellent album , 80'S Melodic HR style even if it came out on 1993 ! Shortino is as usual full of talent and emotion . Big Choruses , production plenty of huge backing vocals . The only weak point is the length of the album : 32 ', its' much too short for such a brilliant album 😎🤘
