I remember hearing a track from this guy way the hell back during the Headbangers Ball days. I have never heard someone do what he did with that fuckin fiddle! Damn!!! |

He certainly was scary good. The Howling is still eeriely passionate. His follow-up album, with a vocalist, was a dissapointment. Where is he now? |

Well, seems I can answer my own question. He's in a project with the singer from TNT. |

This is good. Sounds just like a guitar. If you like Vinnie Vincent then this is an album for you. |

I didn't realize he had any solo cd's. I do know he's toured on the East Coast troupe of Trans-Siberian Orchestra the past few years that I've seen them. He currently really resembles Alice Cooper. I'd like to check this out someday. He rocks with TSO. |

Good questions to ask myself: 1. What happened to Mark Wood after he debuted his album? 2. Does he still make electric violins? and 3. What happened to all the other fiddlists that he was supposedly gonna influence in years to come? Only goes to show that you can hook a distortion pedal to anything and get the same sound. Only difference is that Violin strings are increments of 5ths while a guitars are in 4ths. The result is a unique instrumental record. Check it out if only once. |

Hey Jonny, just wanted to let you know that he has a VERY sucessful violin company,it is becoming very well respected by pro musicians, check out woodviolins.com. I really like his music specially the second album: Wood- Against the grain, it is hard edged and pretty good in my opinion.Worth alook if you are into musicianship! |

Being a Guitar Player for Years..I tried to play the violin and I'm here to tell ya it ain't easy...Mark also has frets on his fiddle so your intonation has to be spot on..He rocks the shit out of it.. like posted before he does have a Vinnie V sound at times...he also has a Yngwie thang...but thats a given since Yngwie plays Paganini all the time...Nice release this one,but not for everyone.... |
