|These guys rock!!!!!!!!!! Definately one of my favorite. If you like guitar-driven rock then you need this. Imagine a combo of Whitesnake (with Vai or Sykes), Hardline, Yngwie (minus the neo-classical approach), a little Dream Theatre, Dokken, and some Tuff. There's something here for everybody.

|One of those bands that restores your faith in hard rock. Punchy, guitar-driven, with lots of hooks, energetic choruses, loud backing vocals, etc. Basically, everything melodic hard rockers want to hear. Comparisons are always tough, but if you like Fury, Joker, Warrant, and bands of that nature, you should definitely add this gem to your collection. It'll cost ya, but it's worth it.

|Yeah Tim, I know you like this one... I just got it (haven't heard it yet), so I am excited. I know, you're wondering how the heck I waited this long to get it, it's the first time I had a chance to get it? It's long overdue I know. I am going to give it a good week or so before I judge it here, stay tuned...

|I'm confident you'll love it. Get Jillson too if you don't have it.

|Okay, it's all about awesome musicians playing the kind of music I love. Great songs, awesome production, killer singer, perfect CD... Anything from Hurricane, House Of Lords (i.e. a more Rockin Sahara era style), Zero, to even hints of Harem Scarem are all fair comparisons, but these guys are VERY UNIQUE as well, but since I enjoy all of the other bands mentioned, needless to say I really dig these guys. A 10 out of 10, no problem. Now, for me, the question is Manzano's 'Turn Me On' this good?
||Date: January 4, 2003 at 5:19|
|PJ said it was very different. Sort of like Leatherwolf if you are into them.
||Date: January 4, 2003 at 7:08|
|Hmmm, Tim? I don't know what to think of that? I LOVE LEATHERWOLF, but I'm wondering if that could be pulled off, not to mention I think Leatherwolf's sound on their S/T is a lot different then their sound on say 'Street', even though I LOVE both. I am just curious, and hoping for more from these guys!!! I also used to think the guys who released 'Martial Law' and these guys who released 'Boys Will Be Boys' were the same band, any word on the other Emergency, I think it's from around '89 or so?
||Date: January 4, 2003 at 17:24|
|I was told they are not as good but I've never heard them personally.

|Hey Ripper. Manzano has some similarities to Leatherwolf (s/t ‘87, Street Ready), they have great backing vocals and fast guitars (not as heavy as leatherwolf). They are quite similar to Emergency, music and of course vocal wise. The Manzano Turn Me On CD rocks, it is most definitely worth getting. It’s a little tuff to find, but I’ve seen a some rare CDs you’ve commented on, so you should be able to find it. PJ has had it in many times, so you may want to check with him. Metal 4 Life

|Yeah, great record: i was a real fan of Manzano since he was playing in Banzai , and i used to enjoy his concerts in the 80´s . But this is his best work ever, a diamond in the story of the melodic metal. The better spaniard metal vocalist ever ( with permission of Fortu ) and the best hard rock record of the 90 ´s . I love this record

|This disc and Zero's s/t are in the process of being (deservedly) re-released. Two of the best CDs in melodic hard rock history, IMO... and soon they'll be available to all! Any doubts, ask Georg at AOR Heaven.
|From: AOR freaky
||Date: February 22, 2005 at 3:49|
|With all respect : it's not that spectacular at all, ladies and gentlemen, just like the Zero one is nothing special. Decent hardrock, certainly, but these both among the best ever ? ! BEST JOKE IN YEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They can't touch the most US or Canadian acts !
||Date: February 22, 2005 at 5:00|
|Oh would you just fuck off with your undying love for US and Canadian acts! There are many better! Musically this is as good as it gets. Tight as an asshole, heavy, melodic and simply stunning. Drums like weapons, guitars like razors- just an immaculate sound. 'Don't Look Back' is original and atmospheric genius, 'Give It Up', 'Tell Me' and 'Talkin' Bout Love' are killer hard rockers, 'Never Stop Lovin' You' is heavy AOR and overall there is not a dud track. Just spectacular melodic heavy rock!
||Date: March 13, 2005 at 13:27|
|To me, the U.S. and Germany way outdid Canada. AORwise, Canada is great, but not stellar on the rock scene. Not saying they don't have any, but not a ton. I like this way better than Zero myself.
|From: The Dolphin
||Date: March 17, 2005 at 6:13|

||Date: April 1, 2005 at 3:00|
|Wotty, please man, we all know who you are ! What kind of person you REALLY are ! Still not looked in the mirror ? Keep quiet, please ! I only wanted to say that this is not good, and that's an understatement !
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 5:08|
|What kind of person ?? Look in the mirror !! I said 'What do you class as cutting edge ??' Lately,nearly every album reviewed you have criticised,so what is a really good album in your opinion.Also,an understanding of irony may be beneficial...
|From: TIM (2)
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 5:59|
|Freddy, nobody is interested in your comments. Wotty is a good guy and offers intelligent comments and useful reviews, but you are just a stuck record (and a really bad one at that - say like HARLAN CAGE ). If the flag at the top was from the U.S and not from Switzerland you'd be raving about this as it's class MHR.
|From: AOR freaky
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 6:25|
|Please TIM (2),forgive me I thought this was the soundtrack to the popular american television show back in the 70s !! This disc is top class AOR like a cross between Pride of Lions,American Dog and Stryper !!! Wotty man, you know I have little understanding of anything, much less irony !! I dont know why you criticise me so much, I am the top AOR reviewer at the waffle stand , so I know what I speak of !!!!
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 6:58|
|Freaky do yourself a favout and try and become ( altho i realise what i am asking now is like warming a meal with ice cubes ) a little more openminded and objective about (AOR) bands that are not from the US. If you cant then just dont comment cause really nobody is interested in hearing the same monotonous comments over and over again. Gets kinda boring you know.
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 6:59|
|Oh yeah and these guys ROCK !
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 7:43|
|All I did was an extremely short review of this album,and asked what in his opinion was 'cutting edge' As usual Freaky is trying to turn opinions into personal attacks with glib self-criticisms in order to be seen as the 'victim'.This kind of 'don't pick on me' routine is being seen as fake by a lot of commenters.I don't criticise you so much,you have a lot of knowledge,but the I'm right and you're wrong routine is very tiresome.Finally,this album,although not groundbreaking,is quite good !!!
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 8:22|
|It looks as though someone is trying to impersonate Freaky.If this is the case,I am man enough to apologise !!!!!!
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 8:32|
|Or am I ?????
||Date: April 1, 2005 at 18:05|
|Just my 2 cents - Freaky, are you familiar with the word 'contradiction'. On this disc you call it decent hard rock first, 2nd post you call it 3rd rate hard rock, then your last post says this is not good and that's an understatement. You call Harem Scarem's debut a classic, but call them the 'worst band ever' in the Darren Smith review, and everywhere you get the chance. You call Scandi acts 3rd rate US posers yet rave of Jim Jidhed and Tommy Denander and others. No one wants to hear it mate.

|Erik, Jez, Wotty, Geoff, TIM(2) and the funny AOR freaky : YOU ARE THE MASTERS, guys ! If you like it, it's of course good. If I don't like it, I'm a fool ! VERY STRANGE that I NEVER hear any reaction on my comments when I AGREE with some of you about a record ! And read (but you guys are not only deaf it seems, but also blind !)the reviews : many times I DO AGREE with your opinions ! Why not a reaction then ? ! In fact : who's pathetic and stupid here ? ! Me ? Don't think so, guys ! Best

|Can we have the 'fake' Freddy back please? Much more interesting.
||Date: April 2, 2005 at 4:22|
|As previously said,'Name and review,what in your opinion,is a cutting edge album'I'm sorry,but instead of offering any constructive criticism,you are carrying out'personal attacks' because people are not agreeing with you.Lately,your response to the people you named after they did a review is ::Crap,third rate or some obscure band with U.S.A./Canadian connections from Mongolia has done it better.You do know your music but woe betide anyone who likes'heavier guitar or toned down keys'

|Freaky - I don't even recall commenting on this disc at all, so keep my name out if you don't mind. Yes we are the masters, so you should know by now to shut the f*%k up from now on and leave the comments to the Big boys.
|From: AOR freaky
||Date: April 3, 2005 at 4:03|
|Think I know a lot more of music than you, dear Jez ! And my dear Wotty : still happy with the Triumph records, mate ? ! How selfish can one be ? ! Me starting PERSONAL attacks ? ! You must be joking, Wotty ? Look at the comments, a lot of people do ATTACK me first, you know ! Besides, not one of you is giving an answer to my question : why don't you READ my POSITIVE comments, and do you only react when I don't agree on a record ? Is that a positive attitude ? Don't tell me what to do !
|From: rocker x
||Date: April 3, 2005 at 5:33|
|this aint 2 badd of an album, not enough keys is all I can say : )
||Date: April 3, 2005 at 7:05|
|Freaky, we read your positive comments. We'd be hard pressed to miss the hourly posts telling us over, & over again how good one particular CD is, agreeing with everyone else who posts positively. I do not attack you, I just want to see you explain some things you say. Can you answer any of my above post about contradiction? I don't mind if you don't like something as I don't like a lot of stuff, but I thought you said this was decent hard rock? Inoffensive is safe? LOL! Don't you listen to AOR?
|Heavy Harmonies Volunteer|
||Date: April 3, 2005 at 9:56|
|Freaky - Geoff sums it up really. 1 or 2 comments per CD is enough really - you don't have to comment on every single persons comment, gets very boring. Many of the albums you like we have already commented on, so we don't have to agree/ disagree with you. Maybe when commenting negatively on a disc (which you have every right to do) you could be more descriptive of your reasons why you don't like it, rather than Modern Crap, Rubbish etc - would be alot more helpful to people here!!!!
||Date: April 3, 2005 at 10:05|
|Doesn't really matter who knows more or less,we are all here to share the knowledge we have. With all your comments,you obviously are up on certain discs/ bands when you provide useful information on them (positive/negative) but i have real doubts about some comments you make that you have even listened to the disc in question in the way you describe them,so i deduce from this that you ain't as knowledgable as you like to think you are.Before you say I am attacking you I'm not - just my opinion.
|From: AOR freaky

|Very good piece of guitar-driven Melodic Rock, this one. You don't get to hear anything really new, but still it is a nice addition to any MR CD collection. I don't know what the original sounds like, but the reissue by AOR Heaven has been produced very well, very tight.
||Date: March 12, 2006 at 5:42|
|Absolutely brilliant album. Got the reissue yesterday. Gee what a album. Top notch for me. Cranking guitars, intelligent songs, cool voice. Dont agree with some of the comparrisons made here. Think they have a kinda unique sound of their own. Unbelievable they only made the one album. Switserland. The land of China, Transit and Emergency. What a talent. This album gets an easy 9/10 from me. Love it !!!!!!!!!

|Muchos buenos comentarios. Buen disco. 8.3/10

|All arguements aside, most agree, this is remarkable stuff. Not to be confused with the Dutch band of the same name and same musical persuasion. Fronted by Vocalist Jose Manzano, known primarily for his work with NIAGRA and his solo Manzano album. There is a heap of powerful guitar flurries on this album courtesy of one Pierre Borden. In fact it probably has more guitar than keyboards which would please a majority of people. However, when required, the ivories provide the color in a sparing way, not a dense overload as most European bands tend to do. The production is top-notch, as can be expected from the Swiss. Overall, the band come across like a heavier version of TREAT meeting Dutch favorites 1ST AVENUE. This is another disc that gets regular rotation in my player....

|Jose Antonio Manzano was considered the spanish version of David Coverdale(phisically & vocally)and that helped him to pursuit more or less a decent career in Spain and overseas...one clarification..this act was from Switzerland,not Germany as stated for some people above...they were looking for a singer and after some auditions they selected Manzano..."Boys Will Be Boys" ,"Movin'" rocks good,"Don't Look Back" a favorite,"Nights Are So Long" lovely ballad,"Blackeyed Jeannie" catchy one,"Tell Me" sounds ala Whitesnake with an AOR touch,"Never Stop Lovin' You" the best song of the album IMHO & "Walk In My Shadow" closes in a good rocking way /m/ ....a pleasant album surely...91/100
