STORMBRINGER is even better than its predecessor, BURN. The band almost forgets hard rock on this release and concentrates on blues, soul, and funk. And do they ever pull it off! This is probably the best non-Gillan Purple album, and one that is sure to have you dancing! |

This is a very cool album, I don't know why people knock it. It's among Purple's best. |

Another great studio album featuring David Coverdale. I liked the addition of a funky sound to some of the songs. Nice change of pace. Best songs 'High ball shooter', 'you can't do it right' and 'Gypsy'. |

my favourite purple album,i love glenns voice it perfectly complements davids harder edge, hold on just gets you going, the riff on gypsy is memorable for a slower track and soldier rounds it off nicely. |

This one gets etched in the annals of excellency. A perfectly fine tuned piece of work. |

By this time, Blackmore had surely lost his reigns & control over the creative direction of the band. Moreover, it's evident he had Rainbow on his mind where he would again have artistic control. Aside from the title track & 'Lady Double Dealer', there is hardly any inspired Blackmore riffing & the rest of the band would carry on with the funk direction they had dabbled with on this disc. A transitional period that proved to be the turning point for both Blackmore & Deep Purple. |

I knoew Depp purple with this one. So for me Coverdale is the best (Whitesnake is one of my favs band of all time)but I have to say Deep purple are Ian Gillan. Anyway just to read the line up I have a thrill on my back. We must to thank Deep purple, Led zeppelin, Stones, Black sabbath if we have had rock music, in some ways the lifeblood to live in this world. |
