From the producers of Petra: the Elefante brothers. A good rocking album musically, but not shout in your face lyrics.

Agreed! You don't even need to like the Jesus to appreciate the AOR finery at hand. The keyboard work is truly first-rate and the vocals soar with all the polish and precision of Elefante production. "Skyrocket", "Lose to Live", "Good Feeling" and "Jesus Music" are four reasons to hunt down this Christian AOR gem ASAP!!

If you know their music already, then this is no surprise to you then. For those who wish to experiment, then check this out immediately, as well as their follow up 'Heavens Calling' from 1991. The mere fact that the Elefante's are involved should help you cement that decision.

The people of ebay need to check the history of halo folks!! I am personal good friend of everyone in this group, & barry graul IS NOT on this album, he did not join the group until after this album was cut! The musician that was on this album instead of Brry Graul, was Keith Mims! Double check it with the following link and both albums are listed and the band members as well. http://ccmdiscography.150m.com/H-WebSite.html

this is an awesome album. anyone know what became of Keith Mims??.. his solo on 'language barrier' is one of the tastiest solos of all time, according to me. i have the tape but can i find the CD anywhere??.. how frustrating. the followup (heaven calling) just didn't do it for me.

This CD is highly frustrating, because the music is absilutely BRILLIANT, but on the other hand, this is another christian rock band, and that I'm not fond of. It's sad that most of the christian bands have the right sound and are gifted for catchy choruses but can't refrain from praising Jesus. Can't these guys stick to going to church and make great rock with more regular lyrics? Anyway, great CD.

I partly agree with the above reviewer here. This is a real monster AOR CD, but the christian lyrics spoils things a bit. They are more in the "Let us convert you" vein than about praising Jesus, if you know what I mean. Despite this, there is no denying the quality of tracks like "Jesus Music", "Good Feeling" and "Lose To Live". So if you like hard-edged AOR in the vein of Aviator, Idle Cure or Allies (s/t) then this CD should be in your collection.

While there are a few too many fillers ("Language Barrier"; "Timeless"; "Soul Searcher") on this album to crown the band Christian AOR/melodic rock saints, there are also some totally killer classics ("Jesus Music"; "Lord of All"; "Sing of His Glory") that make this a mandatory must-own for fans of the genre, especially when you throw in the perfectly-pristine production of the legendary Elefante brothers.

Excellent Christian melodic AOR here. Fans of Idle Cure, Fighter, and 80's Petra would do well to check this album out. This debut is much better than their follow-up. And yes, with the Elefante brothers producing, can you really go wrong. Highly recommended.
