Immense release - a pre cursor to the superb 'Only Child' cd a few years later and only marginally behind that . Very hard to find on disc now , this is an excellently produced melodic rock album chock full of great tracks (Angeline, Just For The Moment, Tuff Stuff). Go get if you can!!!!!!!

I like this album a lot. To me its sound a lot like VAN HALEN with Sammy. Cool Hard Rock.

paul sabu is an amazing talent i first became a fan inthe late 70's early 80's when sabu's rock oriented disco was on the charts with ann-margret and debbie jacobs--

I own the limited edition of this and it is great but the album i am going to mention that i just got but is not listed is 'IN DREAMS'. I first heard 'Dream Burnin' Down' many years ago on a compilation album only then to find this album was already deleted and i could'nt get it anywere. On ebay it was going for about US$50 so i had given up hope of ever getting it.Finally a couple of weeks ago $12.99 BRAND NEW.Let me tell you this album is an absolute classic and was well worth the wait. 9 / 10.

Dave-In Dreams is a re-package of the PAul Sabu album that was released in Japan. In Dreams was re-issued by Now and Then. Awesome CD.

From: Dave Date: September 24, 2004 at 17:57
Rockhead, you are spot on,the album is a gem and i also thought i would never hear a better version of 'Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore' than what Angel did , but i now have and that is the one Paul Sabu does. Also i didn't know it was a Jap only release so thanks for that info !!

No doubt that this is high quality material but I think overall it's a bit overrated. To me it sounds like Paul Sabu is trying hard to be the next Michael Bolton (early era). Still it's good though but not 'perfect'.

From: guillermo Date: February 23, 2005 at 12:08
mira que tiene el cerebro seco el Paul SAbu pero en este albumse muestra excelente. Aor de primera calidad 10/10

I go this way with Scandinavia. It's surely very solid & well made melodic rock -maybe it's a "must have" for many- but not for me. I haven't listened to the bonus tracks so far but what is missin' from what I listened is a real ballad. "Angeline" is a fine track though! I don't like the "Michael Bolton" voice & some tracks try to be Heavy Metal a bit too much. AND, However, what the hell they did with the last 3 tracks??? They are missin' on the reissue??? Maybe they are the best-! Rate: 7,9

From: SCANDI Date: March 16, 2006 at 19:07
Best songs for me next to ANGELINE are CALL OF THE WILD, BREAKING OUT & the first two bonus tracks called CASSIE & SHAKE IT OUT. As far as I remember the ONLY CHILD debut which I sold, this isn't worse but a bit harder.

From: Henrykane Date: May 30, 2006 at 5:53
For me, personally, Paul is very important because he introduced me to AOR music in a way I didn't expected; for example, this album is AOR but it has the strong hot vibe of bands like Led Zeppelin, Montrose, Y&T, Deep Purple and Van Halen: all this amount of solid Hard Rock finished by some keyboard (not much as in the first Only Child). Also I think Paul SAbu is a complete genius; a very important italian rock journalist of the 80's (B.Riva) once said that SAbu is "the duke of the AOR stratosp

here": he was totally right.

If Only Child lights your candle then this release should please you. Recorded shortly before and along the same lines. 'Breakin Out' along with the opening three tracks are reason enough to own this album, and if that wasnt enough, the eBay average price just crashed due to the MTM Classix rerelease of the record. Recommended. 8/10.

From: rene Date: June 29, 2006 at 16:00
PAUL SABU also did the increible 5 songs(MORTE ASCENDENDERE, STREET ANGEL, SHAKE IT OUT, NA NA NA and CASSIE´S SONG) for the 1984/85 movie HARD ROCK ZOMBIES. Great melodic metal/hard rock.

From: Chelnov Date: August 29, 2009 at 4:12
OOhhh...."Cassie's Song", a pretty song...but the movie is very bad.

From: Chelnov Date: August 29, 2009 at 8:06
Btw...the Cassie song ( and "Shake it out" and "Street Angel" too )is in the reddition (2006) of this disc.

From: hair metal again Date: December 18, 2009 at 0:40
what a fantastic debut release from the mighty PAUL SABU this is.strong ,passionate, well performed hard rock music with great vocals similar to sammy hagar s.this so straight but in the same time there are many difficult to find hooks and melodiesand not gonna satisfy easy listeners.listen to "angeline","call of the wild" and the beautiful "breakin out" great songs.overall a must have for a hard rock collection

From: halfordhughes Date: August 20, 2011 at 2:56
very good aor! and pauls best!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: July 27, 2013 at 12:22
Undusted my old vinyl of this and gave it a spin to write a comment about it(actually this was my first Paul Sabu album, bought it back in the day)and being PS one hell of a AOR songwriter,in here, the songs weren't so extremely great as the guy has gotten us to feel about him..."Just For The Moment" is my personal fave plus "Shake,Rattle & Roll","Hot Flash","Heartbreak" & "New Girl In Town"...recommended???...yes,of course, but there are some better songs in other PS records than on this one IMO...82/100

From: 123charpenay Date: August 2, 2013 at 16:24
"rock time" french magazine present this record like a masterpiece, essential ,extraordinary, ect ect....hum i m fan of paul sabu but honestly i think that kidd glove, and the first only child are better.here we have a great paul sabu realise.not more nothing to Wake up in the night.the paul sabu s solos are muddy not clear.a decent hard rock record not more.an average realise.
