Excellent release from the man who gave us such tunes as 'Since You've Been Gone', 'New York Groove'. Great album With an extremely good backing band at the time (Mo Foster on Bass - wow). Good hard pop ditties abound on this album, and 'Voices' even appeared on in an episode of Miami Vice. This was reissued with 'The Fire Still Burns'(also fab) on a 2on1 on Renaissance label in 1996. Well worth the money

One of the finest AOR records ever made. A classic. 'A Woman Like You' is AOR heaven. I also love the drumplay by Phillips.

'voices' is one of the best aor rock tunes ever written, amazing guitar solo and tones and massive drums from simon phillips. the rest of the album is good but a little lightwieght. good songs but the 80's production sounds dated now. his next album 'fire still burns' was a good one too!

A Masterpiece!! The music is not as complex as dream theater but it catches you similarly - and it's an extremly cool sound!!!

Yeah, it sounds really dated today. But for its time it was some pretty good stuff, particularly 'Voices'.

There are some exquisite songs here. Tell me any AOR fan won't get turned on listening to tracks like 'Playing With Fire' or 'Two Silhouettes'. Awesome stuff. Hardly a weak moment on this, and having the talented Simon Philips bashing the drums gives it a certain polish. In reality though, this album was primed for radio. Why it never landed there is beyond belief.

In my opinion this is Russ best record, great AOR...except the boring 'Voices' who does not fit in at all. The best songs is to me 'Two Silhouettes' what a great uptempo song. Then we have the fantastic 'A Woman Like You' with a mega refrain, just perfect AOR, what more could you ask for!!
