OK, give this one a chance. It sounds like VIXEN and most of the songs fit into the rock n roll time frame of 89-90. If Mutt was in her live then we would have had a female counter-part to Def Leppard. Just take a listen to the song Wild And Wicked and if you are into female rockers you will want this cd. I have nothing but praise for these Demos minus the last song remixed as a dance tune.

Some great tunes on this one - alot like the Alexa album. Produced by Paul Sabu also. Well worth getting.

From: Reno Date: October 24, 2002 at 19:27
I downloaded this cd for shits and giggles. It's actually not too bad. I still hear hints of country in there, but 75 0s rock oriented. She should have stuck to this formula, but...would she have ever become such a huge star if she had? I think not. Wrong timing for that.

What's next: 'Garth Brooks: The Metal Years' ?!

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: March 2, 2003 at 1:33
Heavy Harmonies must be running out of bands to put on this site. This album might be leaning towards rock, but come on.... This is a stretch.

From: BLITZ Date: April 30, 2003 at 9:59
Why Dammit Why?????

From: lover of krel Date: May 20, 2003 at 6:28
Hey I hear Justin Timberlake is coming out with a hard rock album of his own!

From: HG Date: May 24, 2003 at 5:00
I laughed my ass off when I saw this listing, but she did marry Mutt Lange (AC/DC, Def Leppard producer), so this might be worth a try. I've wasted a lot of bucks on unknown CDs that ended up sucking. One more won't hurt!

From: love metal Date: October 17, 2003 at 10:21
oh hell no!!!! you want a metal chick listen to doro this is alot of B.S.

From: tomcat Date: November 10, 2003 at 9:16
Wild and wicked is a cool tune, very raw vocals by one of my favorite women.I love you shania.. tom the cat

From: iamCANADIAN! Date: February 11, 2004 at 0:37
Ha, Ha, Ha!!! I laughed my head off when I saw this one! So, I had to find out for myself. A&B Sound didn't have it anywhere on the Lower Mainland. Yesterday, I bought the CD in Seattle at TOWER records and I listened to it last night coming back on the Greyhound. IT'S A GREAT CD FROM START TO FINISH!!! Especially 'Two Hearts, One Love' and 'I Lost My Heart When I Found You'. 'ROCK THIS COUNTRY', Eh? Thanks for this one, Dan!!!

From: Dean Date: February 11, 2004 at 2:00
um.............no.

From: iamCANADIAN Date: February 17, 2004 at 11:42
What were some people thinking when they saw this CD at heavyharmonies.com - 'That Don't Impress Me Much'! Yeah, I still find it funny when I see Shania Twain here. C'mon give this one a chance. Shania's CD 'UP' sounds more pop but when I listened to 'Beginnings' I couldn't stop playing it. She's coming to the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver on July 15 and we got seats in the third row. We paid CAD$250. I'm only going because of this CD.

From: Impaler Date: February 28, 2004 at 12:49
Bought this one to see what all the talk was about, boy was I disappointed! It ain't country but it sure ain't Vixen either! Almost like Heart's less rocky stuff thet did after the mid 80's. Personally, I like her crossover-country stuff better!

From: Iceman Date: March 2, 2004 at 23:13
WOW !!! It's time to 'the golden years ' albums ... Shania is pretty, sexy, but 'country'.. don't tell me ... ok, ill give her a chance. And what's the next ?? Brit spears the 'soundhouse tapes '??

From: Metal T Date: March 25, 2004 at 15:39
What in the hell is this ??---Kind of boggles the mind that crap like Shania Twain' has a presence on this site, yet Judas Priest are nowhere to be found ?---Get f**king real !--C'mon Shania Twain-she is a piece of ass ill say that for her .Still waiting for someone to post some Willie Nelson for me dammit the hell !!!!

From: Blaine Date: March 31, 2004 at 13:13
Cheer up! You can find bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden at brutalmetal.com, Metal T. I thought Annihilator were here at HH but they're at brutalmetal.com. I looked in to it for you. This CD reminds me of Alannah Myles' 1989 debut.

From: Kip Date: September 2, 2004 at 3:22
Enjoyable CD for those who frequent this site for melodic rock and AOR. Deserves a place here. Great thing about this beauty is that it's easy to find and cheap to get. I wish the same could be said for 100f the albums on this site.

From: Quarterboy Date: October 18, 2004 at 14:07
It's incredible no one has mentioned about the poor sound quality of these demos, which I think is one of the reasons why this 'album' (to call it by some sort of name) shouldn't be here....as for the quality of the songs, the composition,I think it's not bad at all....but it's not much memorable, nothing to do with Vixen or 'Heart's less rocky stuff they did after the mid 80's' as someone said here.

From: Quarterboy Date: October 18, 2004 at 14:07
I like Shania Twain, even her latest album 'Up!',but this album is totally forgottable,I bought it a year and a half ago and became totally dissapointed to hear that crappy drum sound and that overall cheesy production...and also the fact that there are a lot of different editions of these same songs, with different cover art, different song order, different title...but the same fuckin' songs, the same shitty demo sound....

From: Fog-hat Date: November 3, 2004 at 13:44
I assume that this album is on this site due to the song 'Wild and wicked'. Apart from that song, it doesn't belong. 'Wild' is a good rock song and Twain does a convincing job of singing it. The rest of the album is just pure 'fluff'. However, considering that this is a historical 'Roots' type album it really isn't too bad. For die-hard Shania Twain fans only. P.S. I don't care what anyone thinks, but it would be cool to hear someone like Shania or Martina McBride sing lead on a Metal album!

From: Mariah Date: April 22, 2005 at 9:56
It's a great album! I love every song of it, definitely worth getting.

From: ROBERT Date: April 22, 2005 at 10:39
Gran Voz, Grandes canciones, Grandes te..., Grande muy grande la Shania!!

From: MikeTuinstra Date: March 28, 2006 at 12:44
Like Mariah said! A great album indeed. This is Shania Twain with an AOR and Pop Metal sound. Only For The Love Of Him is a mix between a Pop and Dance sound. For more on this be sure to also check out the other songs in the same vein. Songs like All Fired Up, No Place To Go, It's Allright, Love, The Heart Is Blind and I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore.

From: Dead Planet Date: September 18, 2006 at 19:41
I'm a proud Canuck but putting Shania on HeavyHarmonies is just WRONG in more ways than I can say....

From: Fat Freddy Date: October 12, 2006 at 13:49
My father in law (a country music fan) just bought this CD (under the title 'WILD & WICKED') at a flea market a couple of weeks ago and his assessment was: 'What the hell is this rock n roll sh*t?' I haven't listened to it yet but I want to borrow it from him (he won't give it up because there's a nice sexy poster of Shania in the booklet)just because of all the comments here on this site about it, I have to hear it for myself now!!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 18, 2006 at 22:07
Is Shakira somewhere in this page,i mean,Heavy Harmonies?:Just joking guys!!!.

From: rbrigade Date: August 3, 2008 at 6:38
Funny reactions...after all it is lite AOR. Still it is quite boring...Even wild and wicked didn't impress me much, apart from Shania singing in the chorus. This chick could make a great rocking carreer if sha had started in '85...ofcourse she made an even greater singing pop/country...good voice but boring songs

From: edwithmj Date: August 30, 2008 at 16:42
This was added yet my submission of Bryan Adams: Waking Up The Neighbours was rejected. Something fishy is going on. What next? Boy George: The Death Metal years? But seriously, this? and NOT Bryan Adams? WHAT'S GOING ON?

From: WookieEnthal Date: July 12, 2009 at 4:54
Seriously? Anyone have any more good jokes?

From: MikeTuinstra Date: November 21, 2009 at 9:10
All joking aside: music should be featured regardless of the performing artist. AOR isn't limited to a specific performer or whatever. It was a commercial genre in the 1980's and therefore performed by many Pop artists at the time. And it should be commercial again to rule the airwaves once more. Hip Pop is tuneless and doesn't represent people's choice. No sales for that so more of this please. To me this is AOR. A majority of the tracks fit the description perfectly and Rock as hard as many bands featured on this site. Also keep in mind how AOR is not just about guitar heaviness. AOR is about the melody first of all. And when performed well it features the big picture: good vocals, well blended instruments and smart structures outing harmonic art of sound. Way I see it.

From: 20gunsalute Date: November 30, 2009 at 20:34
Oh man, too many comments to pick just one. I complain about the wimpiness of this site but this really takes the cake. Why don't we all just put "I love corporate rock" bumperstickers on our cars. Sorry, I can't stop laughing

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: December 1, 2009 at 0:45
Hey, well, look: in all fairness, if you want to go talking about "corporate rock," you could lump every hair-band release from 1984-1992 into that category, taking that phrase for what it actually means.

From: john dragon Date: May 20, 2010 at 12:56
Nice songs, poor sound quality. It had the potential to be much better. And Shania is at least talented..

From: dany69 Date: August 10, 2018 at 17:02

From: DethOfDragnz Date: January 7, 2024 at 10:42
What is this doing on here? No country, or rap/hip hop bands should be on hard rock heavy metal wesbsite. Country sucks, avoid at all costs.
