Amigos,si podeis pillaros este disco,para mi es una caña,AOR de aquel que posiblemente no se vuelva a hacer jamás,bastantes temas marchosos,teclados geniales y una bateria un poco "sospechosa" pero que mola cantidad.La producción de Beau Hill fantástica y sobre todo los dos ultimos temas acojonantes.FABULOSO.

No es para tanto, este es uno de esos discos de "culto" para los críticos pero que no termina de llenar. No Control y Just imagination lo hacen interesante, pero el resto no da la talla. No es el clásico que todos dicen.

If you like Bon Jovi's early stuff, then you should get a measure of pleasure from listening to this CD. Guitars and keys merge well with the big hooks and sing-along choruses to create a melodic hard rock album that isn't mind-blowing, but offers enough for most fans of the genre to enjoy it. Not a CD you should be desperate to get, but worth picking up somewhere along the way.

Me lo acabo de comprar y lo he escuchado entero, ahora reciente, de hecho lo estoy escuchando ahora mientras escribo por 2ª vez. Señores/as ACOJONANTE. (tengo la piel de gallina) jajaja en serio, es una obra maestra del AOR, sin duda.

Brilliant AOR, & the best of his 3 albums. Although all are truly essential. This one's heavier on the keys & is more radio-friendly, & despite being a bit chessy lyrically it's a true gem from start to finish. In fact "This Lonely Heart" has to be an all-time great AOR tune. It's obviously Reb Beach on all the guitar solos, & the whole thing is a little similar to the Winger debut (but with more keys). If you're looking for a long-lost AOR gem from the 80's then you've just found it. 9.5/10.

Exacto TIM(2). Acá parece que toca la Guitarra Reb Beach en todo el disco! Siendo el primero de Winger uno de mis Cds favoritos de todos los tiempos, pues este grupo me encanta. Tambien coincido con que suena a unos winger con mas teclados. "this lonely heart" es un temazo. Pero todo el disco es una joya. Imprescindible a pesar de ser casi desconocido. 9.3/10

Que tal discazo se marco Brian Mcdonald, sus temas son como himnos cargados de ese feeling y esa instrumentación propia de los 80´s, coincido con algunos que dicen que se parece a las guitarras de Reb Beach de Winger pero con más teclados y melodías que de paso son maravillosas sino escuchar This lonely heart,Just imagination,esa power ballad Stay with me excelentes coros,Everynight tiene una melodía enganchosa q no se ira de tu mente por buen tiempo,guitarras,teclados,voz todo en su sitio,9/10.

DIOS SANTO!! Pero que pedazo de disco es este!. AOR marchoso y melódico a partes iguales, con coros explosivos y grandes composiciones. Por ahi me suenan cosas de BRYAN ADAMS, algo del sonido de WINGER, y muchas melodías y coros en la línea de lo que después harían los HAREM SCAREM, ah y cierto regustillo a lo LEPPARD en estos sensacionales 10 temas de entre los que destaco las iniciales y muy prendidas "No Control" y "These Are the Good Times" con unos coros a tope y el bueno de Bryan McDonald

intepretando magnificamente. Temas como la bella balada "Stay With Me", la melódica "Everynight" y la marchosa y emocionante "Highway Desire" son de altisimo nivel y dejo para el final el cual considero el mejor tema de este discazo que es "This Lonely Heart", un elegante y melódico medio tiempo de esos que ya no se hacen en estos días, con un sentimiento arrollador y una letra noble y romántica, esos elementos hacen de este tema algo simplemente fabuloso... por este tipo de temas es que uno...

se engancha mas y mas en este fabuloso estilo musical que es el AOR. Gente como nosotros que no buscamos cualquier cosa en la música sino sólo esas melodías, esas atmosferas y esos arreglos que hacen de un disco algo realmente trascendente... hombre pues, a conseguirse este fabuloso disco... AOR FOREVER!!!

Discazo!! de AOR/HardRock , temas con mucha fuerza "Highway Desire" un gran tema, que a la primera escucha te atrapara..10/10

I LOVE this album!! Great melodic rock (wouldn't do it in the typically AOR genre) with cool and rockin' tracks as the title track "Life is a.." Although my favourite is, again, a ballad: "Stay with me" is such a sweet song that almost make you feel he is whispering it into your ear. I guess for many here it is too chessy. VERY ENERGETIC AND MELODIC 80S ROCK ALBUM (the cover is very accourate to the music here IMO ) 89/100

Amazing album...this is the kind of releases that you need to have in your collection no matter what! ...pleasant songs,good vocals by Brian...indeed a recommendable one...my faves are "This Lonely Heart","Back Home Again","Just Imagination" & "Highway Desire"...but "No Control","Rockin' With The Boys" and the nice ballad "Stay With Me" will certainly make you happy too ...94/100

Joyita de disco una perla AOR de todos los tiempos, temas como "This Lonely Heart" jamas serán creados con tanta melodía y magia, el disco es increíble y sumamente recomendable , si te gusto tanto te recomiendo Planet 3 y Cliff Magness por mencionar algunos. 10/10

sensational release byBRIAN MC DONALD GROUP and the star here of course is the legendary Beau Hill with his great commercial radio friendly but always hard rockin approach!Reb Beach performs before his WINGER recordings and the result is truly excellent!"this lonely heart","back home again","just imagination" and "stay with me" are gems ,but the rest is also good stuff of high quality!essential

I was astonished by how good this is. I've been listening to this for the past month and I'm still not tired of it. Picks from this one are: No Control (extremely catchy vocals), This Lonely Heart, Just Imagination (super rhythm and solo) and Everynight. If you like 80s hard rock with catchy, pounding rhythms, look no further because this is the epitome of that sound. McDonald has a great voice, the guitars are melodic and technical and the bass and drums provide the perfect rhythm. I wish McDonald had stuck with this formula to release more because I can't recommend this enough.
