The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Shelter CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Hmmm ... !! What a disappointment after the first great Shelter release !! I don't know what happened to J.T. Batten's voice, but he sounds plain awful. Maybe it is only the production that sucks but he just can't seem to keep a tone. Some of the songs are quite nice and have good hooks and melodies, but the singer screws it up. IMO they should have given themselves a different band name as J.T. is the only one left of the original band members. |

Disappointment??? This album definently lives up to it's predecessor! Catchy riffs, melodies and teary eyed ballads! Tracks 3, 4, 5 and 8 are all monsters of songs! And J.T. Batten does NOT sound awful on this album at all. He does sound older but that doesn't take away from the music at all. Same old Shelter grooves that we loved from the past with newer (dare i say 'better') production than the first. If you loved the first album, get this for your collection! 8/10 |

To all old Shelter fans, and FYI. The Shelter website is being closed down the end of this year (2011). We (JT Batten (vocals), Jim Kanaris (original drummer) and Jim Beis (the band's first photographer) are doing a fund raiser for cancer research. If you are interested in helping out with a donation, visit www.sheltertheband.com or http://www.conquercancer.ca/site/TR?px=2638534&pg=personal&fr_id=1373&fl=en_US&et=kPYEVq0Umv6Uq-b7eVsGNg..&s_tafId=214963 and read the details. A sealed copy of the original indy CD/and tape and a copy of the radio release from 2005 are being given to the first 50 doners who donate $50 or more. Help us out as we ride to conquer cancer, and eradicate it in our lifetime! In advance, thanks for any and all support! - JT |
