Fantastic album... my introduction to Brother Cane in fact. Melodic hard rock with some folky influences, fantastic vocals... Voice of Eugina is one of the greatest ballads I've ever heard. Fans of bands like Law & Order will love this. Some people firmly believe that the band took a dive after the debut, and that's completely untrue - all three albums are great (although the third one isn't quite as strong as the first two), but IMO this is their peak.

So I get one of these pepsi caps with the the free downloads, and think "omg! And Fools Shine On! What a kickin tune!" however, pepsi didn't have this particular album listed in it's online store of downloads. doesn't really give me much insentive to become an itunes member. This was an awesome album and deserves more recognition than what's given.

Does anybody know, the meaning of And Fools Shine On, is it an athiest viewing life? I kind of get the feeling that's where the lyrics are leaning when I listend, but Im probably so off that I'll need to go back to Metal 101 and start over, but if anybody else could throw their thoughts on these lyrics my way, mabey I could figure it out!

Darker and a bit grungier than the excellent debut, but still with plenty of good melodies. "And Fools Shine On" is kind of boring, but "Voice Of Eujena," "High Speed Freezin," "Horses and Needles" and "Intempted" are all good songs. "Rise On Water" is awesome, easily the best song, as good as anythign on the debut, and should've been a single.

Not as good as their debut but still pleasant enough to satisfy demanding ears ..."And Fools Shine On" was the hit single in here...tracks 1,5,7,10 & 12 are also pretty good ones as well...enjoyable...84/100

I was always surprised that "And Fools Shine On" was such a hit. To me it just drones along, no hooks, not a very strong melody. Rick! Qhat about track 6, "Rise On Water?" That song is SO overloooked!
