Ha! I was just about to submit this one myself. Well, the studio cuts go two good, three not-so-good. 'Rock 'n' Roll' and 'Superjerk' are the good ones.' THe live tunes are also a mix of good and bad, and Baz ruins '17 and Life' by totally screaming his balls off on the high notes. He oversings on a lot of the slower ones. Good live cuts are 13, 14, 15.

I beat you to the punch Fizzy. I agree with you on the live cuts, but the only good studio track that even resembles Skid Row, is Rock N'Roll. The rest of the studio cuts start to sound like the Subhuman Race cd.

Bach is back, sans SKID Row, for this solo outing, and while it won't blow you away, it's not too bad either. The studio tracks are hit & miss, with the opening song, 'Rock 'N Roll' being the best. The others are OK, but as a previous poster mentioned, some of them sound more like 'Subhuman Race'-era SKID ROw than classic Skidsters. Not that Sebastian is obligated to mimic his days with SKID ROW, but I don't think anyone would complain if he did...

The best vocal ever...His voice is not like in the old times...In Slave To The Grind he was the best vocalist in the world...Now he still great...But I miss the old style..ROXX!!!

Over all, this cd rocks!! Most of these tracks, Slave To The Grind in paricular sounds like they tried to speed it up compared to the original version but it sounds cool that way. Skid Row HARDCORE!

Sebastian Bach is the ORIGINAL YOUTH GONE WILD & this is the kind of album Skid Row should've done after Subhuman Race. I dig the band & all. But, Skid Row is only a shadow of their former self without Sebastian. He's got a voice that very few can match. This album is a classic in my opinion. Sebastian is the last of the true rock 'n' roll stars!!! He is rock 'n' roll!!!! (creeper@sunlink.net)

Didn't care too much for the studio songs, but the disc is worth getting for the live songs. Bach & company do a fine job, but I wish Skid Row would have put out a full live album with Bach instead.

Bach is one of the most aggressive vocalists of heavy metal. I really like his style. This album deserves a 10 out of 10. The 'Slayer to the Grind' song was fantastic here!!!!

Bach is probably the best vocalist in all forms of rock. However, there are too many excuses because he hasn't released an album since Sub-Human Race w/ Skid Row in 95. This isn't an album...this is an ep with part of a live show playing SKID TUNES! Timing my butt...release a full length cd already.Slave to the Grind is not that hard to recreate. New tunes are decent...the live songs lack beef. You'll listen to the live heavy tunes maybe twice and then you'll go back to the studio versions

I absolutely love Sebastian as a vocalist, but this is severely lacking. A couple of the studio tracks are OK at best and the live tracks just seem annoying at times. This is not what we have come to expect from the greatest voice in hard rock. Hope the next one is better (and soon).

Probably the still the best hard rock vocalist going around. The sad thing is, he just does not release anything. The new songs on this disc, are all just ok. Maybe that's part of the problem, he needs some talented guys around him. The live songs are pretty cool though. Don't think Skid Row ever released a live album, so this is pretty cool to have. Have also heard he is very hard to work with as well. Hopefully he can get his shit together and bring something worthwhile out. 7/10....

Sebastian Bach is one the premier vocalist to me. With that said, this one was enjoyable but I found myself wanting (to hard) to love it as much as earlier Skids music. It didn't seem to match it. The new tracks left me with mixed feelings (liked about half). The live tracks were alright and got better towards the end (tracks 13, 15 & 16). Wish they would have played Quicksand Jesus and Wasted Time. Overall it's not bad but I hope he does better next time.

Seb's such a character.Saw him recently on this reality show in VH1 and it was funny.Nice guy,friendly and sensible too.His voice is superb and the name he proposed for the project "Damn mocracy" blew it all!.Do us favor good old Seb...go back to the Skids!.

One of the best voices in rock is back, although he's still a bigger tool than anything Craftsman ever made. The disc is basiclly 5 new songs, which suck outside of the excellent opener "Rock N Roll", which is very good actualy. What makes it worth having is the live set of Skid Row tunes. The songs come off great and Bach's voice sounds great. Very F*cking Cool!!! Shame that one of rocks best singers is such a world class ass.

Sorry to be harsh. Don't get me wrong, I love Bas, but I just think "Bach2Basics" is a much better listen. The all cover and tribute compilation is a very fun jam spanning such artists as Ozzy, Rush, and AC/DC. The real gem there is the song "This Is The Moment" from the Brodway Jeckyl and Hyde show. The stripped and untouched performance beautifully showcases Sebstian's voice with all it's vibrato, raw emotion, and power like never before and is just brilliant.

Please get back with the Skid Row boys. This is second rate at best. The new album in by far better and has some good tracks but I will be selling this one on ebay in the near future. Lackluster at best. Bought this one out of nostalgia sake should have left it on the shelf. 50/100

The songs are average n the live songs are not the best performed in this album, but still live recordings rocks but not like the times in skid row n other songs are only decent comparing who is the singer but Sebastian Bach is coolest and the best frontman ever. Skid Row was so great band, I think Sebastian should go back to Skid Row n make best cd in 2000 īcouse they can still do it! I donīt listen Skid Row without Sebastian, i donīt even wanna try SEBASTIAN 4EVER!!!!!!!!

Accurate comment GlamSlam....the studio tracks that were good to me are "Rock 'N Roll" ( ),"Superjerk,Superstar,Supertears"(nice) & "Counterpunch"(rocks)..about the live classic Skid Row versions..yeah..as a music documentary are fine..nothing really outstanding apart from covering the Blue Oyster Cult anthem "Godzilla" in "Monkey Business"....not a bad record...simple but pretty effective!!!.94/100

I pretty much forgot all about this disc. Agree with Rick, the best of the studio tracks are "Rock n' Roll" and "Superjerk," but the rest sound like songs that weren't good enough to make Subhuman Race. Live stuff? Interesting to note how, even at the time I bought this (late '99 or early 2000, I think), Baz was going around blathering about how he wasn't stuck in the past like the members of Skid Row were, yet he released an album concisting mostly of a live set of him doing all Skid Row songs )but one). And the songs are played in pretty much the exact same way as Skid Row plays them live on the Budokan bootleg from '92. Stage raps are mostly cut out, though, so that's something. Best live songs are "Monkey Business" and I've alwasy had a soft spot for "The Most Powerful Man In The World."

When I first got this cd and played the 1st two tracks I thought Seb. was picking up right where Slave To The Grind ended.Rock And Roll is as good as most of the songs on either the 1st two cd Skid Row did and Done Bleeding is right there too.Then came Superjerk and Blasphemer what a couple of garbage songs those are and finally Counter Punch is ok.The live stuff is really hit and miss,you can find Seb. live on you tube doing a better job.All and all 2 new staples for the Live show and you can pretty much disregard the rest of the cd."They got the badges but they ain't got the guns" and "if you can't compete you got no soul I'll never turn my back on Rock N Roll" a couple of great lines from Rock N Roll a future classic.

Agree with "rallen399." "Rock 'N Roll" starts off smoking then the CD just sort of dies. "Youth Gone Wild" live version with new band mates has some good energy, though.

excellent release by hair metal god SEBASTIAN BACH!it reminds me of the Subhuman Race days and the songs are very good indeed!"counterpunch " & "rock n roll" are the highlights and the live recordings are pretty fine too!the comic story in the cd book is also enjoyable!
