Bach has milked out working his name in every other solo album title (bring them Bach alive,Bach 2 Basics,ABachalypse Now'. It's no secret that the man, the legend in his own mind is still madly in love with himself. I give him props for keeping his pipes in good shape, but his solo material is B-Sides compared to the Skids years as is evident with this live DVD/CD collection of tunes. Who's the genius who decided to combine concerts of France,L.A.,Belgium and then repeat much of the set list instead of a double album covering the Skids catalog in detail? Best song S.R. ever released IMO was "Wasted Time" which is no where to be found here, or even on their best of disc. Besides Bach's Frenchie lessons crowd banter, dropping F-bombs (the universal language) every other word to the audience(always handy when you have nothing to say). The biggest travesty is that the shows are tin-can bootleg sound quality, even with Bach doing vocal touch ups (lip-sync evident on DVD). $$$ell out. |

So Baz released a double live album with an accompanying DVD. Awesome. The DVD live show is basically the same as the double cds, which from a packaging standpoint - good move. However, what bothers me here is it contains really the same set list on both cds/shows, just different commentary to the crowd. Its hard to listen to "Big Guns" on a shuffle because you don't know which show set its from - plus they sound exactly the same. For collectors and avid fans this is a must...otherwise its a mediocre live release that offers nothing too special between the two shows (cds). MY RATING: 70/100 |
